Our room faces the sea and gives us a wonderful start to each morning we wake up. We had a lovely breakfast every day, and polite and kind all-around hosts (You're the man, Steve!). Amenities are top-notch (love the pool/billiards table - my partner played his first billiards match here!). I love the spacious bathroom with tub, electric fan, wardrobe and a small fridge for our fresh food. The room is maintained daily by the cleaning staff. I love that they continuously improve and restore the facilities. It is also near the public transport station, giving us access to the city and other interesting locations around the island. We will certainly consider booking this place again when we go back to the Island!

Shanklin esplanade is clean and offers a nice beach and places to stop off for food and drink. Old Shanklin has some pretty properties and great places to eat. A visit to Fishermans Cottage on the beach is a must for food and sunsets. In town, we ate well at Pendletons and The Black Cat. Shanklin is a great centre for visiting anywhere on the island.

Shanklin is fairly compact but basically in 2 parts on 2 levels, the Esplanade (prom) and the Old Village/Town Centre High Street. There are plenty of places to eat in both areas. Accessing the Esplanade can be done by car/bus/on foot. There is plenty of parking on the Esplanade if you drive down.

We loved Shanklin especially the old town, its very quaint, clean and friendly, beautiful old buildings, steeped in history, the Chine was well worth the visit along with the Old English Tea shop and The Fisherman's Cottage Inn, food was lovely! The Village Inn and The crab was pleasant and the food was good, the beach and esplanade is definitely worth a visit, (be mindful if your using the lift there is a £1.00 fee) there nice, welcoming and friendly places to eat and drink and the beach is beautiful and sandy, we enjoyed every moment

Shanklin is such a picturesque village and very clean.

Shanklin is such a picturesque village and very clean. It is hilly but after a few days of walking, you get used to this! I loved visiting Shanklin Chine. Here's a tip: if you are staying in Shaklin, visit the Chine at the beginning of your stay as you are then entitled to walk through the Chine for the rest of the week for no additional cost! This provides an interesting and picturesque walk leading directly down to Shanklin beach. My favourite dining experience was at The Steamers Inn. The staff are so friendly and the venue feels like you are on the continent overlooking the sea! Last but not least, the regular bus service is fantastic. The No. 3 bus covers the east of the island and also into Newport, so getting around the island is easy!

The fig tree was very close to the seafront and our walk along the Esplanade each day was lovely the cliff lift was great if you didn't want to walk back up the hill! Also close to Shanklin old village and Shanklin chine. Great staff especially the young chap at the front desk and bar (sorry don't know your name) but he was lovely and very polite and helpful to everyone we saw him talking to. Breakfast was lovely, rooms were clea, in fact I don't have a bad word about anyone or anything.
