Business trip.
Business trip. Visited Great Dawley as a guest of the Town Council for Dawley Day. Preparation for the 150th anniversary of Captain Matthew Webb's first English Channel crossing. Dawley Day was brilliant, put on by the Town Council for families and it was free. Telford shopping centre is well within walking distance from...
Telford shopping centre is well within walking distance from the Holiday inn. The centre is very large with a fantastic array of shops and places to eat. Just a short drive from Telford centre is the iron bridge gorge with the iconic iron bridge and museums which well worth a visit. Also close to Telford is RAF Cosford aircraft museum which is free to enter you only pay for parking. The aircraft museum is vast also containing the cold war collection of V bombers. The room was a good size, well set up and had all we needed. Breakfast was very good and parking was very easy as the hotel shared a huge carpark with another adjoining hotel. We could walk to the huge Telford town centre shopping complex where there were lots of dinner options. It was on the edge of the built up area so it was easy to get out of town and to Iron Bridge and other attractions. We highly recommend this hotel. Our bed was comfortable and the bedding was clean and fresh. Parking was excellent outside the property. Seemed to be a safe area to walk around in the evening. In Telford town centre, Southwater, there was good restaurants and plenty of shops if needed (9am-5pm) Our short break was mainly to visit Ironbridge during the day and that was fabulous.
