A beautifully presented family-run B & B that gives you all the privacy you want or engagement with other travelers in the well-appointed common areas. Funnily enough, they get quite a few bookings and then cancellations from Australian travelers who mistakenly think they were booking for Torquay, Victoria, Australia rather than on the Devon Coast, UK. The family is delightful with dad being an excellent chef (breakfast eggs benedict was cooked perfectly), mum was so hospitable with great directions and suggestions with our walk to the harbor front and dinner, and the daughter who looked after us with checking in and at breakfast was just a breath of fresh air (good luck with your uni studies). I would definitely stay there again but this time for a few more days so we could take advantage of that inviting-looking swimming pool.

Lovely seaside location. Some great restaurants. Would recommend the boat trip to one of the nearby towns. Promenade is great however, the High Street is a bit depressing. Saw a lot of drug abuse there in broad daylight, police and a man passed out on the street. All a bit bleak.

    Torquay has something for everyone.

Torquay has something for everyone. A fabulous beach with a cafe at the far end. The marina is fabulous for a leisurely walk, you will also pass many cafes / bars along the way to stop at for coffee and cake ir indeed something a bit stronger and a meal. Ice cream can be bought too whilst you take your stroll. On e into the centre town of Torquay it does not disappoint with its many shops. The park in front of Torre Abbey is spectacular with its floral displays, grassed areas and plenty of seating.

We have been to Torquay several times over the years and generally have always found it to be a great place to be based. We use public transport, and it is easy to get to all the places around the bay. We particularly love going to Brixham, Paignton, Newton Abbot and Teignmouth and places in their vicinity. The sand are also great for walking as are the promenades.

After a year in East Anglia the hills came as a bit of a shock. After day 3 we didn’t notice the ups and downs and enjoyed our daily walks. Rockfish? Served a brilliant meal and particularly enjoyed reminiscing over the charts of Trincomalee. Colombo and South Africa which are displayed on the inside wall.

Great location, the hotel is a little dated but the facilities are excellent and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. It is a walk down the hill into Torquay Marina and a walk up the hill back to the hotel. There are a number of nice restaurants in the marina and bars as well and it has a very lively atmosphere.

Fabulous Hotel. Wendy and Steve are so welcoming. The hotel is spotless and rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is the best we have experienced at a hotel, with a great choice. Wendy bakes a different cake every day for guests to enjoy and help themselves, which was such a lovely gesture. The best in Torquay.
