Nice hotel right on the coast at Tynemouth, near Cullercoats. A short walk to the lovely village at Tynemouth and alternatively in the other direction to Whitley Bay. Our first visit toTynemouth and we were pleasantly surprised by what it had to offer. It has the feel of a small resort in that all the major attractions are within walking distance and it is not overwhelmed by tourists. It is also a very convenient base for taking the ferry across the Tyne to South Shields or the Metro into central Newcastle. It also gives very easy access for visiting the many ancient Roman sites in and around Hadrian's Wall. One particular highlight was eating at Riley's Fish Shack, scenically beautiful as it is located on a quiet beach below Tynemouth Priory. Excellent place to stay.
Excellent place to stay. Beautiful clean beaches of which some are dog friendly. Plenty of lovely restaurants and bars nearly all dog friendly especially Allards and Lola Jeans retaurants in Tynemouth village. Lots of interesting historical places to visit. Lovely beaches. Good walks along promenade and further. Castle/priory very picturesque. Walk down to mouth of river for good views and more interesting sites to visit.
