Everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations! It has been recently renovated to a very high standard and the design and furnishings are stylish and comfortable. The hotel is stunning. The staff were lovely and welcoming and went out of their way at breakfast to provide a gluten free alternative. It made a nice change to have some interesting items on the breakfast menu such as eggs benedict, florentine etc and it was all freshly cooked to order, rather than being a breakfast buffet. If you ordered breakfast in advance at the hotel (which we did when we arrived) it was only £10 per head which was very good value. The room we were allocated was spotless, stylishly furnished, very comfortable bed (one of the best hotel beds we have slept in!) and lovely bathroom.

The coastline near Worthing was quite relaxing and the sun shone each day. The National Trust visits to Petworth and Nymans were most enjoyable. We went to The Swallows Return twice and found the quality of the food to be first class and the ambience of the facilities to our liking.

Worthing is a lovely town, lots of restaurants and bars and easy access, great walks along the front, some nice hotels too, Burlington one of our favourites, weather was not so great this time but when it is you can sit outside hotel with a drink, great views. Family birthday meal at the Imperial China restaurant near the Burlington Hotel, very family friendly and great food and service.

Worthing was totally flat for walking, the Town is totally pedestrianised, with terrific Coffee shops(inside and out), and Large Department stores. Plenty of seats around. Excellant selection of Pubs and places to eat to suit all pockets. Brilliant Bus service to visit other nearby resorts.

There are a number of places to eat.

There are a number of places to eat. I thought the "Thieves Kitchen" was a great place for a meal, I ate there twice. Earlier in the week, Worthing seemed very quiet but I was told by a local that things livened up at the weekend, so maybe on hindsight I should have opted for a Friday to Monday visit. I travelled down by train but there are a number of public transport options, Brighton is an obvious draw, with a very frequent bus service and I also visited Arundel with it's magnificent castle and Roman Catholic Cathedral.

Hard to find activities nearby for under 12's went into Brighton on 700 bus. This is now every 12 mins and is an amazing service. We missed not being there for a weekend for the fair/ circus ? We enjoyed the restaurants. Lovely Arcade and shops. Particularly the choice for vegetarian meals. Loved being close to the Seafront Pier and theatre. Splash point activities were great fun.
