Majestic with a castle and the crystal blue waters as a backdrop. Methoni is for everyone - it has history, beach, shopping, friendly and welcoming people and amazing food. I highly recommend making a reservation at Castro (a reservation because you will not get a table unless you do) for a delightful cuisine and spectacular view at sunset. You will not regret it. We really enjoyed Methoni.
We really enjoyed Methoni. Wandering around the historic town, exploring the castle, walking the surrounding countryside and ending up at Surreal for coffee or Thalassa for a meal. If you are seeking a quieter holiday it is ideal, although I can only comment on our October holiday when it was not so busy. It is a lovely town with many small streets to explore and friendly people, with the superb castle as its focal point. Methoni is a nice town in the furthest Peloponnese.
Methoni is a nice town in the furthest Peloponnese. It has a real island vibe, more like Crete than the rest of the Peloponnese. Mass tourism has not yet really beaten it down. Pylos is more touristic, but Methoni is just a little further down the road.Guest review byJohnson - 10

The water and beach views were beautiful.

The pool was fantastic and we spent many days simply lounging around there. Our room was cleaned thoroughly every couple of days so, in some ways, it did not feel like true self-catering, and we were helped with our luggage to the the room.
