Very-very calm! The sound isolated room was just what I needed. No slamming doors, no traffic noise at all - despite being next to a very busy road. This newly built hotel is just two steps away from metro station Népliget and also Tram Nr 1. They have an eye on every detail, to make you feel comfortable. The interieur design is sober, modern and welcoming. The staff is very friendly and competent. The restaurant offers quality food and there is space for everybody. They adapt well to the different flux of guests and the breakast was not a hectic experience, despite an exceptionally busy morning on Sunday. Bravo!

A City of Two Halves

With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.

Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it offers the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage.     The mera hotel was in a perfect location for sightseeing. Budapest is a very busy and interesting place to visit. Lovely to sit by the danube and watch the world go by. A must visit is the parliment building (we got tickets on line before we went) Gellert baths are good too. ( buda side) they have loads of sunbeds around the heated outdoor pool. Great for relaxing after sightseeing. Loads of good places to eat. I must recommend Ape Regina restaurant which is not far from the hotel. We went twice because the food was so good. Budapest is walkable (that's how we got around) but if you have problems with walking long distances, I would use public transport. City park is worth a visit, but a long way to walk from Budapest city centre.

    We found Budapest to be a lovely city, exceptionally clean and friendly. The architecture is stunning. It is very easy to get around on public transport, reasonable and reliable. Would recommend a trip to the spa. Also would be woth pre booking trips such as the parliament as they are very popular. We would also recommend the tour of the opera house. Restaurants of every choice and budget are easy to find. You must try the Langos and Chimney cake

    People were generally rude especially at the Cafe Paris and the Terror Museum. Maybe like a lot of Europe cities , they don’t really want tourists anymore. It was easy to get around on the Metro but no signs at the stations to anything like the museums etc. we did find some great restaurants.

    Due to our problem with sunny bright hotel, my entire trip was ruined. Didn't have time to do much sightseeing seeing. The people can be unhelpful if u do not speak the language. The metro and bus is good. The photos of sunny bright hotel has been uploaded below. Budapest is beautiful, bit expensive. Changing money can be expensive due to extra taxes. I wish I had enjoyed it more.

    There are so many interesting and beautiful things to see, gardens, buildings, monuments, churches and of course the river. This is our second time in Budapest this time either side of a river cruise two days is certainly not enough to appreciate it.

    Budapest has so much to see that you’ll feel you need at least a week to see it properly. Hospitality and public transport are both quite good. Shared cab drivers are also very good. Most people speak reasonable English except for some really old fellows who probably don’t like so many tourists anyways , lol. Some back alleys can feel unsafe after 9 p.m. and the overall the city feels like it needs some TLC but a good place to visit nonetheless.

Per booking.com description, the apartment location is perfect, within walking distance to the various places of interest in Budapest city centre. The apartment owner has been nothing less than helpful and attentive to our queries. We would like to commend him for his hospitality and assistance. The apartment is very cosy and homely, and this has made our trip to Budapest very memorable.

    Exceptional location for exploring Budapest with easy access to transit and all the exciting buzz and history of the city centre. The apartment is spacious, well laid out and has a very cosy home-like feel. The extra amenities are extraordinary, ie an electronically controlled shutter system for the windows and doors that helps modify, sound, light and temperature. Best of all the owner / manager was extremely helpful and prompt to respond to any questions. This place will put you in a sunny ☀️ state of mind.

    We very much enjoyed staying with Metropolis Budapest. The room was great with beautiful wallpaper and nice decorations. Everything we needed was there. The staff were kind and very helpful. The location was also great - close to ruin bars and great restaurants. The walking distance from the hotel to the city centre was also fine - about 15-20 min. All in all we were very pleased with Metropolis and will recommend this nice hotel to other visitors in Budapest.

    We chose this hotel due to its central location and stylish design and it did not disappoint. The location is excellent with a very short walk to the city centre. The hotel and room is very nicely decorated and comfortable. The bed especially is so comfortable. And despite its very central location the room was so quiet and calm. The staff is incredibly friendly and nice and made our stay memorable. If we would come back to Budapest we would stay there again!

    This small apartment has everything you need for your stay in Budapest. The location is great with busses conneiing to the city centre just a short walk away. One of the best public baths with thermal springs is also really close. The apartment itself is super clean and the bed is very comfy. Check-in and out is super easy. The host is super nice, arranged for an early check-in and was overall super friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!
