Siofok is completely a ghost town from middle of September...
Siofok is completely a ghost town from middle of September when they close the season. All clubs, restaurants and shops are closed and there is nothing to do neither people in the streets. It was a surprise for us to find a ghost town and unless you travel in high season it is not recommended to go to Siofok. If I would have known that all was closed I would have choose different place to go or stayed longer in Budapest rather than travelling to Siofok and Balaton Lakes.Guest review byayansiUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Nice city, definitely suitable for a holiday. The center near the port is beautiful, well-kept. Around the road to the port there are many options to satisfy your thirst and hunger. It's a nice little town with a marina, newly updated...
It's a nice little town with a marina, newly updated boardwalk with a nice splash pad for kids and a beautiful park. There's some great wellness hotels in the area, which is the main attraction for us. There's also a party beach for the younger crowd in season. Siofok is also a great spot to hop on a boat and visit Tihany across the pond, or just go for a leisure boat ride. We only stayed for 2 nights but Siofok is a lovely little town with some very sea-sidey vibes. The town itself had everything we needed and the lakeside had some nice areas and "a sea-front" feel. The property is in the centre but you can park your car at the back of the hotel for a small fee per day. Plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, and even more within a short walk into the town itself. We choose to go slightly before the 'holiday' season starts and can imagine it could get quite lively at peak times.
