Our stay at this beautifully refurbished farmhouse exceeded all expectations. The farmhouse was immaculate and incredibly well-equipped, every detail had been thoughtfully considered. From the luxurious beds, crisp linens, and fluffy towels to the cozy open fire, shelves of books, and a great selection of board games for the kids, it truly felt like a home away from home.
The outdoor space is equally stunning, nestled right beside a peaceful forest, perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. Geraldine, who looks after the property, was the epitome of Irish hospitality, warm, welcoming, and even arrived with freshly baked cream buns!
Please note, the house is in a remote location, so a car is essential—but that’s exactly what we were looking for: peace, quiet, and authenticity. We couldn’t recommend this place highly enough and are already looking forward to our return.

I met up with a lot of friends and relatives so didn't have much for sightseeing apart from going on a lovely walk by the Suir as far as Carey's Castle. I found a lovely restaurant the Queen Bee in Irishtown where they serve lovely food and staff are very helpful and friendly. There wasn't a great deal to see and do apart from exploring the old streets, town wall etc, and it's a typical old Irish town in many ways. Like most old Irish towns it doesn't make great use of the outdoor spaces despite having a big river in the middle, for example more riverside parks would be great, mostly it was car parks and a quay. I stayed at Befani's Mediterranean guest house which exceeded all my expectations. The purpose of my visit was to visit friends. I loved the coffee shops and restaurants. Gave myself lots of time to view places of historical interest. I took a beautiful stroll by the river Suir. I visited the shops and viewed the excellent merchandise where I picked up a few items.
