Quaint little town, with the Irish hospitality you would expect and hope for. A few memorial musuems and sculptures, but the people in the town are what we enjoyed most. The place seems a bit on the depressing side despite the beautiful views over water and sea.Maybe it is because I arrived when it was wet. Not not enough happening and despite excellent connection with Cork the place is to sad with houses that definitely need a lick of pink and dampness sorted. Location is top, train station and town centre within walking distance. Bedrooms ensuite are extremely large, beds/mattresses perfect and one of rooms with a wonderful view of the lake. Breakfast very comprehensive, egg dishes, salmon etc. every day. But really unique are Marie & Joe! They anticipate your needs & wishes and give you really the feeling of beeing at home.
