    It is a beautiful village on what feels like the edge of the world, surrounded by beautiful beaches, wonderful nature colours in a perfect setting. Perfect for group, family or solo trips. Great variety of pubs and eating choices in Roundstone village itself. I will be back for another visit and I will recommend to my friends too. Its a long drive over from Dublin but 100% worth it

    I am biased because my mother came from there, but I can't...

    I am biased because my mother came from there, but I can't imagine a more beautiful place. We ate at the very friendly Shamrock Bar and also at O'Dowds seafood restaurant and O'Dowd's cafe. It is a great small village, founded by Alexander Nimmo in the nineteenth century, so full of colourful terraced Victorian houses and easy to talk round . It has spectacular views of the mountains and sea.

    Roundstone has maintained its laid back appeal over the 50+ years I have been going there. it never fails. The various bars and eating places are all of a very high standard. the local beaches are probably the finest in the world and the surrounding countryside is stunning.

    Roundstone is a small, pretty place so with not much to offer for longer stays. The location of the hotel a short distance from Roundstone was ideal for guaranteed peace and quiet. We found our three night stay was just enough to cover the area, including Clifden, the Sky Road, Kylemore Abbey & Gardens, Kilary Fjiord/Cruise. Because of Covid restrictions we opted to eat in the Hotel each evening. The food was excellent.

    A fabulous hotel with a lovely garden walk set in a beautiful scenic location. Room & facilities were very clean and a very comfortable bed. A nice warm welcome upon arrival. Top marks all round. I would certainly stay there again and would highly recommend. Good value for money.

    Everything!! The location, the amenities… it was genuinely a dream to stay here. We could see Roundstone harbour from the sitting room and the host even left us fresh scones with jam and butter. What more could you want? I’m so eager to stay again soon!

    Staff were very friendly & accommodating, Jo organised a microwave for us to sterilise the baby bottles, they gave us a travel cot & offered a room of toys, the room was hotel quality , breakfast was lovely and right on main street.

    We particularly enjoyed the location and warm welcome and helpfulness of the owners. The weather was great and we could go for a swim at Dog’s bay and a walk across Roundstone. Very peaceful and beautiful place…
