We originally chose Thurles for its proximity to Cashel and availability of lodging within our budget range. Part of Saturday was spent touring the Rock of Cashel & Hore Abbey, a 30-minute bus ride from Thurles, If we would have known there was a Hurling event scheduled on Sunday, we would have stayed an extra night! We had a delicious selection of Thai food at YI THAI on Parnell St. The service was fast and friendly. The prices were very reasonable for the high quality of the food. Our second day we had a late lunch at Ryan's Daughter restaurant which closes at 5:30. Very clean and quiet and plenty of space to park. Helpful, friendly host. Location easy to find from main route and only a few minutes to town of Thurles. Ate at a lovely pub and used the ATM in town. Easy to park and walk around town. Host even let us play her piano.Guest review byJanetUnited States

Very comfy bed, roomy with a large ensuite with shower, sink and toilet. There was a TV but I didn't use it. There were enough room for 3 people (1 double bed + 1 single bed) Host was very friendly, easy to talk to and accommodating. Breakfast was great, freshly cooked nothing fancy but a full Irish nonetheless. I stayed in 4 star hotel before with a way worse breakfast than this. Honestly 0 fault.Guest review byPapa StephIreland

The hosts had left out a thoughtful welcome pack of bread, butter, milk, tea bags, coffee, sugar, bottled water and packets of Tayto crisps. It was spotlessly clean and a fire was laid in the stove for us. Very well equipped kitchen which included an air fryer.
