I loved stopping off and seeing the city walls. I did both the church audio tour and the clock tower gate tour. Both the audio tour and the clock tower tour were excellent and helped me to get my bearings. I enjoyed going for a swim in the local pool where the staff were friendly and helpful. I have driven through Youghal a few times, and stopped for coffee, but this was our first time to stay over. Unfortunately, we only had one night, but we would love to go back, especially now that the Greenway has been completed. It looks like a lovely, vibrant town - we couldn't believe how many people were out and about on Sunday morning (in January), running, walking, cycling and in the cafes. It looks like a very historic town too, full of amazing buildings and houses. And being on the coast is always a bonus for any townGuest review byTonyIreland - 10.0

Youghal is a splendid old town with a fantastic history. It also has one of the best beaches in Ireland with a lovely long boardwalk, ideal for prams and wheelchair users. It’s a wonderful place to swim too! There is a great seafood restaurant in the town - Aherne’s. Around or near Youghal, there are some wonderful places to visit - Ardmore and Lismore, and the lovely River Blackwater, to name just a few. Youghal is a good base from which to visit these places, though you would need a car to do that comfortably. I am probably bias as it was my mother’s home town. I love Youghal. Youghal is located at a river estuary. It has a history - we stayed at the Sir Walter Raleigh hotel - and a number of historic buildings in town and on the water front. We stayed overnight. I had a long, interesting, exploratory trip along the boardwalk along a wide, blue flag beach. It’s a destination for family holidays, it’s well worth a stop on a trip along the south coast of Ireland.Guest review byTimCanada
