Staying at Askot Cottage for our first two days in Iceland was probably one of the best decisions we made during this trip. It made the first impression of this majestic country even better. The attention to detail in these cottages is unparalleled. The kitchen is immaculately equipped with everything you need to cook, eat, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. Second, the bed and linen were unreal. We felt like we were sleeping on clouds. Clean, cozy, comfortable, spacious... just unique. When we woke up the following day, we enjoyed a slow and calm breakfast while watching beautiful horses through the giant window. The bathroom was also well equipped with everything you need - soap, shampoo, shower gel, enough toiletries, and towels. Everything was so warm, cozy, and compact - I honestly can't recall when was the last time we were taken care of so well. The check-in and check-out process was simple and smooth. We picked up and left our keys in a small lock box next to the door. Greta was also kind and notified us about leaving a cable when we left, so we returned and retrieved it without any issue. They also provided us with a Bluetooth speaker. We used to listen to Icelandic folk music—it was like a fairytale! The only downside was that we couldn't stay here longer. It was also a great location to visit nearby attractions, such as Kerid Crater, Bruarfoss, Faxafoss, Urridafoss, the cute town of Selfoss, and more. It's a fantastic place. Greta and Steiner did an excellent job. As experienced travelers, we cannot recommend this place enough. I'm looking forward to staying here again sometime. Best of luck!

We had an absolutely lovely two-night stay at this charming accommodation in Iceland. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how immaculately clean everything was - clearly a lot of care goes into maintaining this property. Our host Veronique was simply delightful and made us feel so welcome throughout our visit. She was incredibly helpful and friendly, which really enhanced our overall experience. The space itself was cozy and inviting, with a warm atmosphere that made it feel like a home away from home. We were pleased to find that the accommodation was very well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location worked perfectly for our Iceland adventure, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to rest after our days of exploring this beautiful country. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for clean, comfortable accommodation with exceptional hospitality. Veronique is a wonderful host, and we’d happily stay here again on our next visit to Iceland!

Veronique is a very very nice Host and did EVERYTHING to make sure our trip was worth it! This included receiving our lost luggage from the airline before we arrived in the accomodation. The Family Room we rented was very big, very clean and very nice. The kitchen was fully equiped, even with a dishwasher! The Hosts sell food and drinks if you need something (cheese, etc). Veronique even left us a nice note in our language (german) on the door. We loved this accomodation.

Arriving around 23.00 was not a problem at all. Warm, clean, cosy, beautifully-designed room with a fridge and a kettle + some tea/coffee/chocolate bar. Everything beautiful, breathtaking views, close to the main road. Peace and quiet as there are only two rooms for guests in the house. The hostess brought us plates, knives and forks, she's a lovely person. In the morning our car battery was dead and the host gave us all kind of help, support and advice we needed so that we could continue the trip. One of the best stays in Iceland.

We had a wonderful stay at this unique dome house. The place is quiet, peaceful, and beautifully surrounded by nature, with adorable horses nearby that made the atmosphere even more special. The host was very welcoming, and everything was clean and well-prepared for our arrival. The dome itself was cozy and relaxing, and at night we could enjoy the sky and even a few stars through the clear panels (no aurora during this season, but it must be magical when it appears!). Inside, the accommodation was thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed: a microwave, Nespresso machine, small refrigerator, sink, plates, cutlery, and more. It was the perfect combination of comfort and nature, and we left feeling refreshed and relaxed. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in Iceland.

I would definitely go there again. More beautiful than on the pictures, peaceful, good cooking area, nice places to chat whit other guests, clean, friendly owners, everything was good.

Peacefully situated by Lake Villingarholt, Vatnsholt Bed & Breakfast is 16 km from Selfoss town centre. Impressive mountain views are featured.
