Great stop on the ring road, Hwy. 1. Simple town with nice guesthouses on the ocean. Highly recommend the Brimslod Altier Guesthouse! We also had dinner there, and is open to non-guest reservations. Amazing sea views. Great breakfast. Ate dinner at another establishment in town that was very good. If we stayed longer we would have eaten dinner at the hotel. The room was gorgeous. Loved the roof window. It even had a bluetooth speaker that sounded great. We could have stayed much longer if we had the time. Nice little bridgehead town with various services. A good base to travel from. Various choices of good day trips, e.g. around Skagi and Vatnsnes peninsulas, Skagafjörður district and the scenic valley of Vatnsdalur.
