I recently stayed at Bitra Guesthouse and was very pleased with my experience. The guesthouse is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff is VERY friendly and helpful. The location is peaceful and quiet, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The price is very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the accommodations and the excellent breakfast included. Overall, I would highly recommend Bitra Guesthouse to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and affordable place to stay in Selfoss. Here are some of the highlights of my stay: Cleanliness: The guesthouse was impeccably clean, from the rooms to the shared spaces. Comfort: My room was comfortable and cozy, with a plush bed and ample storage space. Welcome: The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable. Location: The guesthouse is located in a peaceful and quiet area, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Value: The price is very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the accommodations.

This is an incredible cosy and peaceful place and the owners are super friendly. We enjoyed the hot tub a lot! And have seen the aurora chilling inside 🤯 200% recommended!

Arriving around 23.00 was not a problem at all. Warm, clean, cosy, beautifully-designed room with a fridge and a kettle + some tea/coffee/chocolate bar. Everything beautiful, breathtaking views, close to the main road. Peace and quiet as there are only two rooms for guests in the house. The hostess brought us plates, knives and forks, she's a lovely person. In the morning our car battery was dead and the host gave us all kind of help, support and advice we needed so that we could continue the trip. One of the best stays in Iceland.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Old School House. Honestly, part of me wants to gatekeep this place – but of course I won’t. As a half-Icelandic person, this has definitely become one of my new favorite spots to stay in the countryside. We loved the garden, which was open for everyone to use. We actually ended up staying in for both dinner and breakfast, even though we had plans to go out and eat at restaurants. But the garden was just too cozy – we couldn’t resist. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and had an amazing evening watching the sunset. The kitchen and bedrooms were super clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Iceland. Magnea and Greg were so lovely and welcoming. You can really feel that they care and want you to have the best stay possible. 10/10, would recommend!:))

Where to start? The staff and the owners are super friendly, there is a hot tub and a sauna for everybody, breakfast was really good (fresh made waffles!!!), the beds were so comfy and the guesthouse is the perfect spot for day tours all over the region - it feels like staying for some days! We were allowed to feed their animals and got lots of good suggestions what to do. Check in was the easiest I have ever seen. Go there!

Magical vibes, great location for viewing northern lights, walkway up the hill into the woods was pretty, very comfy bed. There was a great view from the hill to see the northern lights and got lucky with clear sky's. It also felt good to sleep with a view of nature in the safe harbor from the wind.
