It is the perfect tiny cottage for solo travelers, couples or for small family of 3 who likes nature and to get away from all the chaos from the city. Cottage included everything even a little dish washer and a conventional oven. Loved how small but it had everything you need. Also it was very easy to get there and check in even in the winter and after getting dark outside. They even plowed the snow out right upto the door step early in the morning so we could easily drive in thick snow. The host was really sweet to leave us some chocolate wafers which I loved and now I am taking a whole bunch back home for sure. :) The best part is we were extremely lucky to see Aurora/ Northern Lights show on our first night itself in the cottage.

The apartment is extremely nice, quiet and cozy - the bathroom, bedroom and kitchen are all very modern and well equipped. There is also a coffee machine with capsules, a nice little personal touch. It might seem a bit confusing to find, due to the road that seems to be in the middle of nowhere, but I think the isolation actually adds to the charm of the place. The landscape is amazing. The communication went very well, with check-in instructions quite straightforward and received in advance. I highly recommend staying here!

Iceland is a very expensive place to travel and this guest house was average price for Iceland but the quality of the rooms were low average. Our room had such a bad slope on it we had to sleep at the other end of the bed with our heads above our feet. The bathroom had a toilet in the middle of the room, you had to walk around it to get to the shower and even though the room came with breakfast included it was very poor quality.

The hostel is easily located. The cleanliness is top notch. Super easy to check-in. Parking is right in front of the main door. Pantry is fully equipped. Bathroom/shower is sufficient for both floors and squeaky clean. Just that the Quad room is abit small.

High quality apartment, beds great etc. Problem was getting there was a hassel of the off road time with very difficult roads. Too expensive given that. And it was a construction site, per the picture out of our window.

There was a lot of noise. We weren't on the main building and when people walked in the hallway you got a lot of noises. Also the fan in the toilet turned on every time you turned on the lights and it stayed on for 15 minutes after.

We stayed in Kirkjubaerjarklaustur and made day trips to the glacier and to black beach. If you have a car, it is a great place. The scenery is beautiful and it is a good location to explore the south eastern part of the island. It is a bit of a drive for groceries and I suggest you buy them in Reykjavik or at a larger town on the way to the south.

Like how secluded and special the place is. The fact that it is close to a nameless waterfall. The lava maze that leads up to the waterfall. We have our own cabin, although the space is a bit tight with limited room to move about, the place is comfortable. The host was exceptionally friendly and shared a lot about the space, and about Iceland.

The hostel is situated at a small lake and we even had Northern lights dancing above it. Our room was small, but sufficient for one night. There was even a little sink in it. The hostel has three very well equipped kitchens that you can use and a large common room. It’s a perfect stop while travelling along the south coast of Iceland.
