A welcoming off-the-beaten-path simple youth hostel, ideal for a short stay while exploring Iceland.
Though some features show their age, the space is clean, comfortable, and well organized. The true highlight is the cosy kitchen and dining area, offering a stunning view of the fjord — a perfect spot to unwind and take in the scenery.

It is a beautiful secluded town in Eastfjords filled with colorful houses. Serene and quiet surrounded by beautiful mountains. We wish we had more time to visit artisan galleries. Unfortunately we arrived late evening and art studios were closed.

Picturesque small fishing village and cultural arts center with great restaurants, hiking, and boat tours. Very walkable. A must visit, if you're in the East! Bring your camera, the photo ops are endless!

This town is a bit over rated in my opinion.
This town is a bit over rated in my opinion. There is almost nothing there. The setting is nice, but we stayed in a town called Siglufjordur up north is much prettier and had a lot more to offer, so I would skip this one and head up there.

This is a great place to stay for a couple of days. The town is small but charming, and there a multiple day hikes close by. If you are doing the ring road, this might be a nice spot for two nights to rest up a bit. You might catch a glimpse of the Faroe Islands/Denmark Ferry that comes in once a week. Breakfast options are limited, however there is a little bakery in the supermarket that has wonderful fresh baked bread and goods.

This is a pleasant town in a strikingly beautiful location between mountains and a fjord. Apart from the surrounding beauty, the town is tranquil (out of season) and very walkable. We understand that things heat up during the summer season. There are a handful of restaurants and a well-stocked supermarket. During working hours the town suffers from strong fishy odors coming from the local fish processing factory.
In short, it is a must-see stop on any tour of Iceland.
