Dongo is not so touristy as some villages on the lake.
Dongo is not so touristy as some villages on the lake. It feels like you are getting the real Italian experience. Plenty of Good restaurants in the town. Good transport links to travel by boat or bus to other villages. The owners are delightful, lovely people.
The owners are delightful, lovely people. Their hospitality is wonderful. The property is charming but a bit more run down than the photos show. The finish work is rough, the street is noisy and the smaller room needed a bit more storage space bedside and in bathroom shelves. However, if you are used to no air conditioning and no screens on windows along with barking dogs and jackhammering in the street, the charm is real. I have real mixed feelings because these people are wonderful and their breakfasts are great. But don't go expecting fine furnishings. This is roughly finished with a lot that could be improved, but a lot of good too. We rented bikes and rode around the lake and drove around too. Love this area.Guest review byElizabethUnited States
