Farmstays are often a special experience, but at Maierhof, the location, together with the friendly hosts and their four pawed companions....this stay was one I will remember always. Strongly recommend booking a dinner at an agritourismo and also be sure to check out the local event calendar. Lots of things you can do to learn about the Ladin culture. Armentara meadows were gorgeous, we thoroughly enjoyed the recommended route on the Maierhof website.

Beautiful accommodation on the hill in the village of San Vigilio overlooking the center and the slopes. The perfect starting point for visiting Kronplatz, the ski bus stop is a few meters from the hotel. The hotel also has a hot tub and sauna, which is a great way to relax after skiing. Rich breakfast, there is also a great pizzeria nearby. The service is nice and helpful.

Having visited over 30 countries in Europe, the Cavallino is our favorite hotel! The staff at this beautiful family run hotel are all wonderful. The property has been in the family since the mid-1800's. The new hotel was built in 2010 and was built to very high standards. The food (both breakfast and dinner) are delicious. Definitely purchase the pre-paid dinner: a delicious 5-course meal and, If the pre-set menu doesn't suit you, you can order off of their dinner menu. They offer several vegetarian entrees. The views from the rooms are amazing! We stayed three nights. On the first night of our stay, the hotel provided complimentary drinks and appetizers before dinner on the back patio. This was our third stay at the Cavallino in ten years and we are never disappointed. At 5 or 6 pm, the local cows are paraded up the street wearing their bells. Fun to watch! Even some of the lovely art work was created by mother and daughter of the large hotel family.

As a solo traveller, this is my 6-star experience given the thoughtfulness of the staff and a free upgrade to a very comfy exclusive room with a picturesque view of the mountain and greenery. Staff was helpful, room was very clean, place well designed with energy saving sensors (very impressive), good selection breakfast and ample parking. Nothing more to wish for.
