The scenery in this area is beautiful - all villas are very special situation on hillsides with glorious views and tranquility. The town is a small, working town, not a tourist attraction. It is not as special as some of the ancient Tuscan towns, but this means it is less busy. This was the most amazing and unique stay of our 3 weeks in Italy. It is run by 3 generations of family. All very passionate about providing an outstanding experience to guests. Felt like home from the moment we arrived. We'll be back with the rest of our family. The property is located a few minutes away from the town of Monteroni d'Arbia. Most importanly it is so central to visit Siena, Montepuliciano, Pienza, San Quirico d'orca and Montalcino and the hot springs at Bagno San Filippo.Guest review byJillAustralia - 10.0
We were very pleased.
We were very pleased. The host and hostess were so welcoming and patient with us despite our inability to speak Italian. Very gracious. They gave us a great recommendation to the winery, Santa Giulia winery—wine very much in keeping with our taste, a great education in wine making in the region from our hostess. Santa Giulia is a winery run by a beautiful family upholding a multi generational tradition. We drank wine to children laughing throwing water balloons. The rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The large adjacent Carrefor supermarket has a pizzeria and coffee shop which is open 12 hours per day, including Sundays. The La Galera restaurant, located in the village has an extensive menu and the braised veal in particular was most delicious.
