We spent 36 hours in Pietrapertossa and certainly could’ve...
We spent 36 hours in Pietrapertossa and certainly could’ve stayed another day. We explored much of this charming village, but certainly didn’t see all there was to see. We walked to Castelmezzano and had a wonderful lunch there, but could’ve spent more time there as well. The Lucan Dolomites really are a gem there in the middle of southern Italy. You have to see it to believe it.
You have to see it to believe it. A visit to Pietrapertosa will confirm just what lengths the ancients would go to to protect themselves by building on the top of any place that would be incredibly difficult to attack. The owner was extremely helpful when we arrived much later than anticipated. We were guided into the accommodation and a booking made for our dinner nearby. We loved the accommodation and its view from the terrace, both of which made the long climb up the mountain worthwhile!
