We loved everything about Salina hotel. Barbara checked us in and answered questions for us during our stay. She was outstanding. The food was great. The pool was so lovely as were the nearby beaches. The hotel hallways were lovely and the high tech feel of the rooms was very fun.

Room and toilet are clean. The people at the front desk are very nice. They clean the room and change the towels everyday. Wifi is strong. Breakfast is simple between 7 and 10am. The location is perfect and close to restaurants. There is also a fan.

The new section along the canal with bridge opposite the castle was postcard perfect .Something like this you will not find in many cities around the world.The old Città Vecchia was absolutely beautiful,the food was too die for.We were blown away by Taranto old culture v the new century. I commend the commune with the ongoing restoration of old culture buildings.They are improving a city that has everything. Food sculpture people.10/10.

I wouldn't rush back to Taranto.

I wouldn't rush back to Taranto. The modern town is very built up and feels a bit poor/run-down -- imagine a slightly more upmarket Naples. The old town is very dilapidated once you head away from the castle. Parts are totally derelict with more stray cats that human inhabitants. We chose Taranto as a base to explore Alberobello, Locorotondo and Matera, but would have been better staying somewhere more central.

The old town was really nice, great shops, we wanted to go...

The old town was really nice, great shops, we wanted to go to De castello(castle) but weren't able as the only had Italian guide and wasn't allowed to walk around ourselves, even though the tourist information Centre said the times on a sheet in English. Disappointed

Not really a "tourist" area - VERY Italian! Few English speakers and be prepared for second class service in restaurants/bars as a non local/Italian. Otherwise, town center and seafront interesting for a short visit. Parking is very limited and difficult. Public car parks all seem to have guys "helping" you to park, for a fee I suppose? We were lucky to find a very friendly and helpful traffic warden who helped us buy a suitable parking ticket without the input of the resident "parking fairies"! Some nice old buildings and plenty of shops but generally very noisy and with lots of people. Roads in and out of town are busy and congested night and day!

After travelling around Puglia region for 5 weeks we really enjoyed our couple of nights here and could have stayed longer as found it a lot less touristy and so many restaurants to choose that weren’t 95% seafood only 😊

Great location in the heart of Old town Taranto but very close to the Castello Aragonese and the pedestrian zone and promenade by the sea. The room is as it is presented on the photos, comfortable and clean. The wifi cinnection was excellent. Andrea the owner is super friendly and kind and he helped us with the parking of the car and was availavle at any time for all we needed. The breakfast was great, at a local bistrot just around the corner. I highly recommend this accomodation to anyone visiting Taranto.
