This was my first visit to Venice, and the beauty and charm were breathtaking. However, be prepared for the difficulties you may encounter traveling with luggage over the streets and bridges. We are an elderly couple, and thankfully several kind folks provided assistance. All of the people we met in Venice were warm and welcoming.

I loved Venice.

I loved Venice. It was clean and I love how there are no cars, everyone just walking around. Everything within close proximity. Whether you fly in or train in there are boats that take you into the area of Venice you wish to stay.

There is so much to see and do in Venice.

There is so much to see and do in Venice. We barely scratched the surface in our four days there. I will note the Vaperetto service does not run till 10AM, and the fare is $9.50 for a ride, so buying a daily pass can be a good value. But central Venice is easily walkable. Making advance reservations (or ticket purchases) is highly recommended at the key sites. Restaurants were a good value, but ask for prices if the daily specials include truffles.

I went to Venice with the words of some friends in my ears...

I went to Venice with the words of some friends in my ears about how much I was going to hate the place. Well - I was absolutely smitten with Venice - there was a pleasure, a sight or a joy around every corner. In ~2 days I visited all the major tourist attractions and also made it to Murano and Burano. It is true that the place is pretty touristy and I imagine that it could be overwhelming in the summer months. But mid-October was perfect weather and less touristique than I expected. I would happily have spent another 3-4 days in Venice had time permitted. Had a memorable dinner in the upscale Ristorante Moro near the Academia Bridge and a Vivaldi concert in the Chiesa Vidal. It was a perfect two days in a spectacular and fascinating city. Can't wait to go back.....

We didn't have much time in our schedule to take time to see all of Venice. 1 1/2 days - but even in that short time, it proved magical! It is a must see. We could have easily spent another day or two exploring and just enjoying the city!

This is a small hotel in a quieter part of Venice. Anna is the host and she is the most welcoming person with tips to make your stay even better. The location is a short stroll into the busy main part of Venice but located in a quiet corner of Venice backing onto the canals. The rooms are larger than most in Italy and quiet. Breakfast was beautiful each day. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to stay in Venice. There are stairs to carry your luggage up but this was not an issue for us.

This was my family's first visit to Italy, and I am overjoyed that their first memories will be of Venice and this comfortable apartment near the Vapporetto stops near San Marco and Biennale Park. By shuttle, we are 10 minutes from the Lido Island of Venice with its fine sandy beach. Thank you Luca for your helpfulness and hospitality! We will be back.
