This is a medieval town with lots of history.
This is a medieval town with lots of history. It is very interesting but not enough to do for too long. There is only 1 shop, a bar and eating places. There is a bus but it is a limited timetable. You really need transport to get to other places or the railway station. We are visiting italian friends who live in Vicopisano and they take us out in their car. A delightful small town with adequate shops (including an excellent Bakery, several restaurants a very pleasant Bar. It is a lovely place to stroll around its narrow streets, very uncommercialized. It is very conveniently located as a staging point for trains to Pisa and Florence from stations either at Cascina or Pontedera. The room was big for the whole family, very spacious and clean bathroom, central location close to bus stop, so even without car easy to reach from Pontedera (next train stop). Good bus connections to Pisa and surroudings, tickets can be purchased in the Tabac store nearby. Very warm welcome by the host.
