The hostel privides basic but clean amenities, as well as some useful service, like lockers and breakfast. Although no staff always stay there, facility is well maintained and the video phone call system on ground floor made the stay smooth. Location is fine. it's near town center, so easy to visit some sightseeing spots in town, like Chichibu shrine, bamba street, matsuri kaikan, and meisen kan. It takes a 15 min walk from seibu station, may seems far but the way there through local shopping area, so it's fine. It's near a chichibu line station ohanabata, but the frequency is low.

This seems like an old traditional shop house that was converted into a hotel. The architecture and materials are wonderful, almost like time traveling back to fedual Japan. We had 2 rooms; 1 was on top of the resaurant facing the road and the other was in the back. The front facing room had a kotatsu, which we loved, but was a bit noisy due to the main road in front. The other room was a converted store house and was blissfully quiet, but had no windows. The materials (lots of wood) and decor were just what we were looking for. Because of our stay here we plan to visit their other Nipponia locations across Japan. They also have on-site parking if you are driving.
