The Southern part of Okinawa is neither pretty nor particularly pleasant.A chaotic collection of rarely attractive buildings, it is plagued by traffic jams, lack of public transportation, etc. Still, there are a few worthwhile archeological remains, some good restaurants, the old (mostly pedestrian) part of Naha is very pleasant. It's relatively well connected, with a few bus stops below 5 minutes away on foot. There are a few konbini nearby too (5-10 minutes) and a supermarket (Union) around 10-15 minutes away on foot. Checking in and out is automated, but it was really easy, even if you can't understand Japanese. The room door lock doesn't use a key, it's just a numpad (which is actually pretty convinient). The room is clean and right, the kitchenette is well equipped. Breakfast is very good with a choice of Japanese, western or curry. The staff we met were super nice and friendly.
