This hostel far exceeded my expectations! It was spotlessly clean, near the JR station, and the free breakfast was delicious. I looked forward to coming downstairs and being kindly greeted by the staff during breakfast, then enjoying the miso soup, egg and rice, and tea. It's a quiet hostel where you can get some good rest and take a nice, hot shower (water pressure was fantastic) before starting your next day's adventures. The showers were well stocked with nice soap, shampoo and conditioner, and there was a hair dryer at each sink station in the women's shower room. They put a lot of thought into the details, like having a shoes-off tatami area before you enter the shower (western hostels should take note of this! It is so nice to step out of the shower onto a clean surface), having a ledge to place your items, etc. As a solo traveler, the private room with bunk bed was just enough space for me to unfold my carry on luggage and spread out my items on the desk.

The property was right next to the main station, which was very convenient. I was able to drop of my luggage before check-in, so I could enjoy exploring the city early. The rooms were very clean and the public bathing room was clean and nice to use after a long day. The breakfast in the morning was a little expensive, but there were many different foods, and all of them were fresh and tasted good.
