Our stay at Sinharaja Forest Lodge was truly relaxing. The lodge is surrounded by lush tea plantations and beautiful greenery, making it a perfect escape into nature. The room was comfortable and clean, with everything we needed. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious. We especially loved the morning views and peaceful atmosphere. I'm a wildlife Photographer and I've been seeing Hemal as guide for several years now. He recently renovated the place as a guest house and it is fantastic. The place: The room was clean, AC and facilities are brand new and the view is exceptional! It is located a beautiful 10 minute walk from the park entrance, surrounded by green. And is directly next to the path that you would take for a night tour, which is a must in Sinharaja (And nobody is allowed to enter the Park at night). Hemal's wife is cooking and I doubt any of the luxury hotels near by will match the love and effort she put in every single meal. As it is common for Sri Lankan hospitality, they will always ask you if anything is missing or you have any special wishes and will drive to the nearest shop to buy it, without asking. The guide (Which is much more important in Sinharaja!): Hemal is known within the entire community as one who spots the most animals and knows so much about them. While all guides need to absolve basic training to become a guide, you can tell that he is truly passionate about the nature and he will tell you the English, Latin and partly the German names for most of the animals that we saw. You can also tell that he deeply respects the animals and the eco system and puts safety of you and the animals above anything. He grew up right in that village and he's is in the forest every day even on his days off so he always knows all the best spots!

We loved this place! The views were amazing and the atmosphere was peaceful and calming. We visited the Sinharaja Forest Reserve during our stay and our host did an amazing job by organizing the whole trip there, he made everything really easy for us. I would 100% recommend this place for anyone who wants a little getaway from the busy coastline and loves nature.

I stayed at Sinharaja Pitadeniya Hut in Lankagama during our research work in Sinharaja, and it was an excellent experience! The location is ideal—conveniently close to the main road and within easy access to both the Lankagama and Pitadeniya entrances of Sinharaja Forest Reserve. This made it very practical for our research activities. The food was another highlight. Breakfast was included in the price and featured authentic local dishes, which were both delicious and satisfying. The host was incredibly friendly and supportive, always ensuring we were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The accommodation itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable environment to relax after a day of work. Overall, it’s a great place for anyone visiting the area, whether for research or leisure. Highly recommended!

I had a great stay at the Glitz Marriott. Ananda and his family are great hosts, really nice, attentive and excellent cooks. I originally planned to stay one night but extended my stay. The room was large, clean and quiet. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea can be taken on the covered terrace with a beautiful view of the surrounding rice fields. Ananda is also a very good guide, we did an expedition in the Sinharaja forest and saw a lot of animals. Ananda also organised a visit to a tea factory and took me to see the beautiful surrounding countryside.

Our stay at Rainforest Star Accommodation near the Sinharaja Rain Forest was truly unforgettable. Prabath and his lovely family welcomed us with such warmth and care – always checking in to make sure we were comfortable, well-fed, and had everything we needed. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the jungle. The food was a highlight – delicious home-cooked meals made with love and local ingredients. The rainforest walk arranged by Prabath was a real standout. We were guided by an expert who had a deep knowledge of the forest and helped us spot rare birds, insects, reptiles, medicinal plants, and even a waterfall. It was an immersive and educational experience we’ll never forget – a must-do if you’re visiting the area. Adding to the magic, Prabath told us about a nearby Poya celebration and parade in a local village and arranged a tuk tuk so we could attend. It turned out to be one of the most special experiences of our trip – a beautiful, authentic cultural event filled with music, colour, and friendly smiling locals. We were the only tourists there and felt completely welcomed. Prabath and his family are wonderful ambassadors for Sri Lanka – generous, genuine, and full of heart. If you want to experience the true essence of the country – its nature, culture, and hospitality – this is the place to stay. Highly recommended!

One of our best stays in Sri Lanka! The hut is very idyllic, surrounded by beautiful nature – a perfect place to relax and recharge. The communication before arrival was excellent, and thanks to Ravindra’s directions we found the hut easily, even though it’s a bit tucked away. He also organized a wonderful rainforest tour and helped with our onward transport. The breakfast was great, and we also had the chance to enjoy a delicious dinner. Ravindra was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout our stay – really the best host we had. Thank you so much for everything!
