I had a fantastic 7-day stay at Villa Rumassala—and I loved it so much that I extended my visit by another 10 days. I was based there while completing a medical elective at a nearby hospital, and the villa offered the perfect balance of comfort and tranquillity. Tucked away from the main road, it felt like a peaceful retreat, complete with a serene pool and fresh towels provided daily. The Villas are located about 15 min walk from the main Unawatuna beach and shopping/food area or a short tuktuk ride to Jungle beach (unless you're ok with walking up some steep hills!). The rooms were spacious, exceptionally comfortable, and featured modern, spotless bathrooms. I particularly appreciated the communal kitchen area, which included a kettle and a washing machine—small touches that made a big difference during a longer stay. There was 24/7 security, making me feel safe throughout my stay. There was also a small gym that was open 24/7, however it did not have aircon which might put people off using in the Sri Lankan heat! What truly made my time unforgettable was the staff. They were incredibly warm and welcoming, always making sure I had everything I needed. I was even invited to join in the Sinhala New Year celebrations—a beautiful and memorable experience. A special thank you to Sasini, whose kindness and attention to detail ensured I was comfortable throughout my stay.

This might just be my favourite resort on the south coast of Sri Lanka. It was great value for money, the rooms were spacious and very clean. I slept amazingly during my stay as the bed was very comfortable. The manager and staff were friendly and very helpful with giving me recommendations and booking me tuktuks into town. I work online so the plus was the hotel had fast internet and good coffee. I’ll definitely be back at Terra.

The place is full of a magical atmosphere among green vegetation, a beautiful and well-maintained pool, very clean and beautiful rooms, delicious, fresh and healthy food and the best breakfast, and above all, Jini and her family are hospitable to guests and happy to help immediately with any matter. The Green Escape is beautiful, it is tucked into a quiet, lush green space with a beautiful welcoming pool. We had a lovely room on the second floor of a two room bungalow and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the birds. I loved all the outdoor spaces - the restaurant was indoor/outdoor and despite the heat, it was always comfortable because of the ceiling fans.

Check-in was smooth, and the property is a hidden gem surrounded by nature. We were upgraded from the Lake Suite to the Sunset Pool Villa, which was stunning. The infinity pool was amazing, the food was delicious, and the 2-hour boat ride on the lake was unforgettable. Staff were very helpful and made the stay perfect. A 10/10 experience – highly recommended if you want to escape and disconnect.
