The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning and loved the convenient location faced to beautiful paddy field. Top tip : Hotel owner Mrs.Dilhani arranged our Safari and made us delicious breakfast packed in a containers to carry with us while on safari.We had an absolutely brilliant day and I would love to recommend White House Inn - Thissamaharama to other travellers. The hotel was fantastic - amazing facilities and lovely staff. It was the perfect location to explore some of the area too - so nice to be near a supermarket and other food places whilst also being in a quiet area down by the river. We got to see a crocodile by the river from the hotel garden!! The pool was great - made for a very relaxing fun place to come back to. The gym had good facilities and it was nice that there were outside weights. Great breakfast too. The staff brought us mango lassi and beer to our room one evening too. Room was super comfortable - great shower and ac.

Wow, what a find Art Yala boutique resort is. If you want a a break away from the hustle and bustle of every day life this is the place to come.It’s hard to explain how beautiful and tranquil the view is from this fabulous resorts garden looking across the lake to the distant Buddhist temple, perfect for morning yoga. Madu the resort owner and his wonderful staff Nisal, Mahesh, Sampath and the outstanding Chef Indika looked after us like family. The fruit and tasty cooked food for dinner is all local produce. The rooms are very modern and spacious with all mod cons required. For a trip to the National Reserve Safari park. Madu can arrange everything for a full day or half day safari. If you’re lucky,like we were you may get to see a Leopard or two along with the many other wild animals. Thanks Madu 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the wonderful stay Kind regards Pete & Di

We had such a beautiful stay at My Resort Yala. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and cared for - the staff really want to make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. This is evident in the facilities - air con, good fans, filtered water in the room, mosquito nets (even though there weren’t many mosquitos), a fridge, a hair dryer, adapters to suit every country’s appliances. My favourite - bicycles. This allowed us to ride around town - a thoroughly enjoyable way to see the place. We did an afternoon safari and managed to see a sloth bear! Along with so many other animals - many elephants, crocodiles, deer, bird species, mongoose, jackals, goannas (probably forgetting a lot here). The leopard eluded us. My husband and I have been on safari in Africa so we thought maybe we’d be underwhelmed - but it was awesome. The pool was great for my kids. The temperature was just right. Breakfast was tasty and very generous, and the place has such a peaceful outlook over the rice fields. All of this for such good value. Thank you to all the staff for making this such a lovely stay.

Gem of a place. As mentioned in other reviews the rooms are basic BUT comfortable and clean. For the price they are more than perfect. The setting itself was wonderful - right by the lake, surrounded by wildlife. In the evening, the host took us by tuktuk/scooter for a free tour of the lakes where we saw varans, bats, many birds including two beautiful owls !, and even a (harmless) snake. I booked my Yala safari with the host the day before and we could tell that the driver was more experienced than others. We saw all the wildlife one could see in Yala - leopards, crocodiles, varans, many birds, elephants, mongooses and even a sloth bear ! Perfect place, I'm happy I choose it.

I can’t recommend it more 😊 Nalin will do everything to make your stay better He is always trying to add more value to your stay offering new activities, recommendations and experiences He arranged a dinner in the jungle where I could cook rotti with the locals and even spot some crocodiles and elephants!! Super clean and spaciousious rooms Wifi works perfectly Delicious fresh and home-made food I will never forget Black Panther Yala, thank you so much 😊

Everything was outstanding! The pool and the huge garden are perect for relaxing after a day of safari. The team also arranged a safari for us which was really cool for a fair price. Special thanks to Upul and the whole team for the wonderful stay and the awesome curries! Definitely recommend the place to everyone.

One of the best accomodation excperiences we’ve ever had. It was so much more than just a place to stay. From the moment we met our hosts we were made to feel like part of the family. They went out of their way to make us feel at home and their hospitality never ceased to amaze. As if a beautifully maintained, quiet, calm and meticulously clean property in addition to some amazing food were not enough, the host showed us places we would never have found on our own. Its speaks for itself that the safary in Yala National Park was not even half as interesting as the late night tour our host gave us in his village. The highlight of our stay was the Vesak celebration witch we would never have seen without our host. Thank you so much! May you be blessed!

We loved this place! Wonderful homestay overlooking the lake. The owner has created a very comfortable room- lovely 4 poster bed with comfy mattresses and pillows, a huge dressing mirror, hairdryer, desk and chair and a stand to hang clothes, AC and TV. The rooms share a wrap around balcony and a nice terrace to have your meals. Gemunu and his wife made us a lovely dinner - hoppers and fish curry was delicious. The buffalo yoghurt with treacle is a must. We booked a half day safari through them. Chamara was a good guide and we even managed to see a leopard. Though we stayed only a night we loved it and hope to stay here again. Gemunu was really helpful in getting our laundry done for us - washed and folded. It was really appreciated. A fantastic base for your safari.

    The White House Inn is a fantastic place to stay in Thissamaharama. It’s situated in a calm and natural setting, making it perfect for relaxation. The inn is also very close to the Yala National Park, which is great for those looking to go on safari. The hotel is clean and comfortable, providing a welcoming atmosphere. The spacious lobby area is a nice spot to unwind. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, offering excellent service throughout our stay. One of the highlights was the food. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, and the Sri Lankan dishes were absolutely delicious. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the White House Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
