Exceptional facilities and amazing 5 star staff for low price. The hotel manager and his wife as well as the rest of the personnel have been exceptionally kind to us during our day. I arrived sick and they kindly brought me to the doctor, made me rice porridge and juice to recover. We ended up staying one night more and arranged us to stay in the same room. I got a bit better the day after and was able to do the elephant safari that the manager kindly organized for us. Finally he arranged a car to ella at a good price as well. The room was very clean and well furnished, the pool was clean and new and we could see a bunch of animals in the trees nearby. The food cooked was also delicious. Would definitely recommend you to stay there !!!

This is not just a hotel, it’s an experience. I’m so glad I chose this place for our stay in Udawalawe—it was perfect. This isn’t just another room to sleep in; it has soul. Everything is thoughtfully designed and deeply connected to nature. From the use of wood throughout the space, to the outdoor giant hammock, to being just 10 meters from a beautiful river—every detail brings you closer to the environment. Even the bathroom feels like an open-air experience. Inside, the room is beautiful: there’s a unique hanging bed, ambient lighting, and a spacious layout. Out back, a large hammock overlooks the river—perfect for relaxing. We stayed for two nights, and honestly, we wish we had stayed longer. I’d highly recommend a minimum of two nights, but three would be ideal to fully soak it all in. The host was amazing—he helped us organize transportation from Hiriketiya and to the airport, set up our safari and a visit to the Elephant Transit Home, and shared great advice throughout our trip in Sri Lanka. He even joined us for a swim in the river—it felt more like staying with a friend than at a hotel. P.S. They have a super friendly, playful dog who’ll definitely steal your heart!
