•Everyone is very friendly, especially the manager of the restaurant. very careful and thoughtful, and gave me a lot of useful advice. The day I left the hotel was my birthday, and all the staff gave me a celebration and cake at my breakfast, which made me feel like I was at home •The room was big and clean, and the balcony was comfortable •Well equipped, well furnished and tastefully · food is amazing and the price is reasonable •You can see fireflies and rare birds around your room

Beautiful stay in the middle of the forest. The property owners were very friendly and welcoming as well as the staff that were always very helpful. The food was amazing and gives you the perfect experience of the sri Lanka authentic food. They also offer complimentary foot massage to welcome their guests and yoga class every morning! They have a non for profit tea factory and took us on a visit to the factory with a guide that explained every step of the process for free! Very calm and relaxing place and highly recommended for families!

The owner was extremely nice. We really got used to meet nice people in Sri Lanka but Azarath managed to surprise us even more. There were five of us friends, and we were aware that there were beds for four people and one couch, which we were okay with. However, Azarath generously offered us a free room with a bed and all the amenities. The place was stunning; the bedrooms were modern, and one of them was partially outdoors. After checking in, I realized that I had accidentally booked two nights instead of one. Unfortunately, there was no option to cancel my booking at that point. Nevertheless, we spoke with Azarath over the phone, and he was extremely helpful. He checked on us multiple times to ensure everything was okay. I want to express my gratitude to him once again. Thank you, Azarath! :)

It was a great stay. They upgraded our room to their chalet which was so spacious and comfortable. We could use the other hotel near Peacock for restaurant and pool and it had the best view of elephants in the river. They offered free drive between hotels making it very very easy to use facilities. Mr Andrew was deeply kind and helpful and we're thankful for the service.

    Pinnawala basically has 4 main attractions therefore a maximum of 2 days is sufficient. The main attraction is the elephant orphanage. Related to that is the elephant bathing at the nearby river which is fascinating. Remember the ticket you purchase for the orphanage is required for the bathing so do both in the same day as the tickets technically only valid for the day (we did not know this so we went to the orphanage in the evening and went to see the bathing the next day.. however the kind ticket officers let us go). Then there is a mini zoo where animals roam in more space than usual. You can feed animals here which could be fascinating (for a small fee). Then there is a traditional village called Iparini Gama where you can experience live style of a traditional sri lankan village.

    Spectacular area to get up and close with elephants. Unique experience with elephants walking thru the village for their daily bathing. General accommodation facilities were good. Bars and eateries also of reasonable standard. We stayed at Grand Royal Pinnalanda and found this quite satisfactory in services and value.

    Amazing experience to watch the elephants bathing. A number of souvenir shops on the street and limited food options. We ate in our hotel. Shops don't stay open late as most tourists leave for the day. 1 night is enough.

    The staff were very obliging.

    The staff were very obliging. We arrived at 1am, this was not a problem and they greeted us warmly. Next morning we watched elephants in river from our balcony. The events coordinator took us to a place where we could walk and swim with elephants. He stopped on side of road on way back to try coconut milk. Wonderful staff. We found the breakfast not quite to European tastes.

    We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the complete hotel staff for their remarkable kindness and assistance, which undoubtedly enhanced our stay. We reserve special gratitude for Andrew, our tour guide, whose warm welcome and generous gesture of taking us on a village tour with his car left a lasting impression. Most notably, witnessing the elephants relishing their river bath was an extraordinary experience. The soothing sound of the river from our room added a truly relaxing touch to our stay.

    First of all i am highly satisfied with the overall. Here they provided a good breakfast with a lovely elephant bathing view. And this peacock village is a little bit far from the elephant bay hotel then they provided a transport method also between two locations (totally free). The environment is fully quiet and clean. Container villas have a mini fridge and hot water also. The entire area is covered by cctv coverage. I especially want to mention that the manager and staff are also very friendly and supportive.

    We had an amazing stay in Hotel Pinnalanda. The view is breathtaking! Breakfast was really good and the staff was so lovely and friendly. Especially Andrew (that’s how we called him) from the tour desk was such a lovely helpful guy! Thank you Andrew, you did a great job! But all the staff was amazing and made our holiday!! I can really recommend to also use the pool when the elephants are out, that was amazing!

    We were here for the second time and would gladly come back. Very nice large rooms. Delicious breakfast. You can see the elephants bathing from the pool. Even from the breakfast table. An ideal hotel to end a trip to Sri Lanka. Special thanks to Jude. As last year, he is always friendly, helpful, and knows what his guests want. We will gladly come back!     We like the location very much as it's right in front of the Elephant Orphanage, about 600 metres from the Pinnawala Zoo and Herbal Garden. The staff were nice and facilities were decent compared to the pricing of the room. We would definitely recommend this place to travellers.
