We were there 4 nights during off season. There is not much to do there in July. Especially with kids. Since the sea was to rough to swim in! Lots of wind and felt a bit like a ghost town to us. The beach is fantastic for surfing, with great waves for both beginners and pros, while also offering calm spots perfect for relaxation. The sunrises and sunsets here are truly breathtaking, making every moment by the ocean magical. The town itself is warm and welcoming, with friendly locals, great food, and a laid-back vibe. The only minor downside is the occasional plastic waste, but with more awareness and local efforts, this paradise can be even better. Several restaurants, bar and beach at walkig distance. The owners are super friendly. He arranged surfing lessons with a very good teacher and he even gave us a tuktuk ride to Weligama and back for this lesson. Next to this, he works at a small hotel where you can also stay at a very quiet beach on sunbeds and we even saw a turtle over there! Apartments is comfortable with high bright ceilings, terrace with chill zone is amazing. Just two minutes by bike to the most popular Sri Lanka surf spot and beach — Weligama, and between most of the others surf spots. You can go 10-15 minutes to the east or west by bike and find a lot of beautiful surf spots. Very hospitable owners give all you need! Everything felt very luxurious. It's on the quieter end of the beach with fishing boats out the front so you really get the Sri Lanka beach experience.
