The ancient site of Lixus is amazing and makes going to Larache worthwhile. The Plaza Espana in the modern town is very atmospheric. There are a few rather run-down hotels in this area. The Medina is quite small and easy to navigate - but it is very squalid. He was extremely helpful - we arrived very very late, way after check in ended, but he met us on the street, helped us with parking and in the end we were up talking and laughing for another hour. In the morning we hang out at the terrasse with Mr Hassan two lovely turtles and learnt about Larache. Also the best mesemen I have ever eaten.
