It is a beautiful, luxurious, well-maintained resort. The staff was so wonderfully friendly and attentive to our every need. They learn your name after the first meeting. In particular Shaan truly tried to make us feel special. He arranged dinner reservations, drinks, explained things and always asked if he could help us in any way. He was always present with a smile and good conversation as with all the staff. Checking in was seamless. We were greeted warmly with a drink and taken to our room where everything was explained to us. The food was exceptional. Especially at the On the Rocks restaurant. We came to celebrate our anniversary and, truly, they made it so special! From the bottle of champagne and snacks on our arrival to a handwritten anniversary card, a special anniversary cake which we enjoyed for a few nights to a rose petal bubble bath. Another great touch was the small tray with a washcloth and spray water bottle and glasses of water as you are on a lounge chair at the pool or the beach

Wow! KIREN absolutely went above and beyond for me .To Accommodate me , with a noisy neighbor (screaming tantrum throwing child) .Everyone was soooo nice..It was so relaxing there...Didn't see people for days because it was so perfect at my suite , steps away from the beach ..Just felt like i had the whole place to myself ..so peaceful. KIREN is so kind and even when he wasn't on shift , if I messaged him with questions or anything at all , he would make it happen ..The best customer service

Staying in The Ravenala Attitude was a great experience in general. Our room was very far from the reception, but we didn't mind walking much. Our room was really spacious, facing the river. The hotel has several restaurants you have to book your place in time, but you can always eat in the main restaurant. We especially liked Madame Ming, Kot Nu and BBQ restaurants, their managers, chefs and waiters were amazing! In general the staff is extremely kind, helpful and lovely. (Gilles, thank you for the tea selection!) Sometimes you don't even need to ask for something, they are paying attention and bring it for you even before you opened your mouth. The hotel is very clean, the garden is beautifully maintained. I especially love how environmental friendly the hotel is! We rented single kayaks, glass bottom double kayaks, played Bocca on the beach, participated in Yoga and Tai Chi lessons and cooking classes. Especially cooking classes were amazing! Thank you Madame Ming and Kot Nu for the incredible experience! We had a great time, inspite of being very unlucky with the weather.

Awesome stay! We were here for a week and had no complaints. The staff were all amazing and very helpful. The rooms and property were clean and well maintained. The breakfast and service in the restaurant was also exceptional. Great location for day trips as well.

    Balaclava is not the most lively part of Mauritius which...

    Balaclava is not the most lively part of Mauritius which suited us perfectly. It consists mostly of vegetable fields, forests and small hamlets. The coast is getting developed with hotels but each is keeping its space so it doesn't feel crowded. You need to rent a car or get a taxi to visit the nearest town, Pamplemousses. There you have the old sugar factory, botanical gardens and a very pleasant shopping mall with a food supermarket.

    Although it was very hot and humid but there always was a...

    Although it was very hot and humid but there always was a cooling breeze along the coast. Couldn`t fault the staff, always very friendly an helpful and the room service was excellent, clean and efficient. We were not a young couple (in out 70s and 80s) and preferred to stay and enjoy the restful facilities of the resort. We could see that young couples with children were having a good time and were more likely to travel around the island in the heat.

    Balaclava is remote so no opportunity to walk anywhere.

    Balaclava is remote so no opportunity to walk anywhere. We were fine with a good dinner and the occasional musician but some might find it boring. We used a driver but if not then you’d need a car to get round the island. It was cyclone season so mixed weather but in general the North of the island has drier sunnier weather than the South.

    wonderful and chearful resort design, I liked it so much.

    wonderful and chearful resort design, I liked it so much. there are free and paid activities it is very good for families. 12 minutes from seewoosagur ramgoolam botanic garden and 15 minutes from port luis by taxi. there are 2 resturants and bar on the beach, there is delicious hot snack bufffet ( 4 - 5 pm).
