Cameron's has become overly crowded on weekends, with loads of motorists, including bikers, choking the narrow roads. It's also quite hazardous going up and down the single-lane road from Tapah to Brinchang as buses and lorries speed along, often encroaching the opposite lane. Development seems to have taken place without much thought to how the town will look. As a result, visitors are met with an eyesore when they reach Tanah Rata - Ringlet. Nevertheless, Cameron Highlands Resort remains an oasis of calm and civility. I would happily return, but on weekdays.Guest review byHarinderMalaysia - 8.0

Love the weather and the greenery. Hate the insane traffic, crowds and pollution from over-tourism. The natural beauty of the place is being ruined by rampant land clearing and haphazard builds sprouting up everywhere like poisonous mushrooms, all to make a quick buck in the name of tourism. The overflowing crowds of tourists that used to flock to Camerons only on weekends have now spilled over to the weekdays too. Cameron Highlands was really nice — the weather was perfect, and it felt peaceful being away from the city noise. But weekends can be a nightmare: the market areas were packed, parking was a struggle, and traffic heading towards Brinchang was just terrible. If possible try not to come during the local school holidays...
If possible try not to come during the local school holidays or Festive holidays or during weekends. The traffics jams were bad. We got stuck in the jam for 2 hours trying to go to one of the popular places. It was on Sunday. Before going to any of those places make sure you read their reviews and opening hours. For strawberry picking some places charge entry fees and some did not but charge only the amount of strawberry picked which is way more expensive that those sold at the market or stalls along the road. Definitely our favourite holiday location in the whole of Malaysia! The cool weather is just what we need when back home is scorching hot. Tourist attractions are aplenty and fresh produce is always fresh and cheap.
