It is a good place for relaxation (if you find somewhere quiet to stay), and a wide variety of places for eating. But it has become overdeveloped, with too many large hotels and other buildings sprawled along the valley. The main road is noisy with much traffic. Within Tanah Rata there is little concept that you are in mountainous countryside. Took a bus from KL and reached here at approx 1pm. The final 1 hour journey was windy road (almost vomited). Cool town where majority of restaurants are Indian. There is no ground tour package that starts in the afternoon. All the tours start at 8am.
