Design is definitely ahead of the curve, with strong aesthetics giving a luxurious feeling to the room. The bath tub and salt was nice, and the choice of whether to separate it from the rest of the room or not was great. The location is nice, and has easy access to local breweries, eateries, and so forth. Overall felt very upscale for the price.

The food is amazing!! The hotel itself is conveniently located in downtown Dunedin, walking distance to most attractions. However the chef here is fabulous. The onsite restaurant the Press Club is terrific. Serving staff were great and provided most pleasant customer service.

There is so much more to see in Dunedin than what I could see on this trip, but I couldn't stay away from home for too long. Dunedin is a great place, museums, art galleries, interesting buildings to visit, beaches, historic homes and public buildings, wildlife places... and it's not overrun by tourists like Queenstown....

Historical city, beautiful old buildings, Railway Station and trains awesome. Museum’s great. Easy to get around. Otago Peninsula is beautiful and the wildlife is amazing. Easy drive down the scenic route along the coast to the Catlins. Nugget point lighthouse is worth visiting. Just have to allow time to travel from the airport into and out of the city if flying in. It’s about a 20 minute drive.

Like any university city there is a vibrancy around the town...

Like any university city there is a vibrancy around the town when the students are about. The warehouse district is a particularly great place to stay and appreciate all the wonderful old buildings that have been refurbished and repurposed for a mixture of residential and commercial purposes. As a result there are many great eating options to choose from as well as plenty of places to shop. It was great to see bakers and butchers in the inner city a short sign that life is returning to the centre of Dunedin I would highly recommended Dunedin as a great place to spend a week or so there are plenty of natural attractions within a short distance of the city along with attractions, such as Larnach Castle and Olveston. Dunedin art gallery also has some fantastic art on display as well as revolving exhibitions. We stayed close to the centre of Dunedin and a lovely refurbished warehouse and found that everything we required for eating was within walking distance.

    I love Dunedin.

I love Dunedin. Despite the freezing weather, it has a gothic and quirky charm which I love. It has the best architecture of any NZ city and is compact enough that it doesn't take long to get anywhere. There is plenty to do, especially if you're lucky enough to be there in good or passable weather. The art gallery and museums are worth a visit in poor weather.

Dunedin is a beautiful city with some much history to it.

Dunedin is a beautiful city with some much history to it. Its nostalgic feel that flows through the buildings as you stroll through the streets. SO many hidden spots to enjoy retail therapy or a cuppa. Local Retail stores are just the cutest. We thoroughly loved how close everything was from University to the Polytechnic.

The front of house team were great and very helpful, especially when we had a few small issues. Our included breakfast was fantastic! Loads of choice, plenty of it and a nice environment to sit and eat, while looking out at the Dunedin hills. Very handy location to the centre of Dunedin (the Octagon) where there are lots of pub and relaxed style restaurants and cafes. Note that Dunedin is very hilly, so getting back to the hotel after dinner and a couple of wines can be difficult!

It was a one night stay! The room was small but had everything you needed in it. The heater on the wall did the job of keeping us warm. Hotel is in a central location and is next door to the Casino in Dunedin. There is a restaurant a couple of doors down from hotel where we had a beautiful meal. You didn't need to book. At the end of a very long day, the receptionists were just very cheerful and helpful.

One of the best Motels I've ever stayed in New Zealand. Very quiet even though central, spacious, clean, comfortable bed and seating area. The only Motel or Hotel so far with a water filter in the kitchen to avoid the chlorine taste. Immediate upgrade to disability unit as my daughter had an accident recently and could not climb stairs. I will definitely come again

Definitely the best place to stay in Dunedin. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. A wonderful little touch was the birthday card for my wife left by the staff in our room after cleaning. Then at our meal the General Manager Andrew led an impromptu happy birthday song for my wife. The whole hotel oozes class.

Historic hotel built in 1884; some original elements remain. Great location, free parking across the street from hotel. Parking in Dunedin CBD can be difficult, so convenient parking was much appreciated! Our room had a view of the central courtyard, where the original stables were built.
