We went on the whale watch and the tour was very informative and saw lots of wild life, whales, seals, birds including an albatross and 2 different species of dolphins. I will always have this as a beautiful memory on our trip to New Zealand ❤️

Kaikoura can be overlooked as a destination, but is definitely worth an overnight stay or more, great vibe with restaurants, cafes, shops and first class hotel, Lots of walks, suitable for all levels of fitness from a stroll on the beach to a hike over to South Bay and back. the seal colony, or go whale watching, or just take in the views.

Loved the walk out at the end of the peninsula and the abundance of seafood on offer. The boutique shops offered things not available in other places. The views out to the ocean were amazing. This was all helped by 2 perfectly fine sunny days with snow on the ranges.

Went there for the dolphin cruise and wasn't disappointed! Very professional outfit, and we were lucky to score near perfect conditions and of course, the delightful dolphins! Only one night spent in Kaikoura as it was on our way Christchurch to leave NZ later the same day of the dolphin encounter (sadly). Have already booked our return trip to NZ!

Didn’t expect Kaikoura to be such an amazing tourist spot to visit and its activities. The environment was too good, everyone were friendly, from supermarket, restaurants and to activities. The highlight of our trip was the EcoZip line it was super fun and would do it again.

The seal colony on the northern coast at Ohau Point was a great stop on the way to Kaikoura - we saw baby seals feeding, lots of seal frolicking in the water and on the beach. We walked to South Bay lookout and around the headland to Kaikoura beach as the coastline is spectacular. More seals and birds on this beach. Good 8km walk. Food at the hotel along the road was good and drinks on the verandah to watch the sunset was great.

A fabulous stay at the Kaikoura Quality Suites. The rooms were spotless, and smelt fresh. The rooms came with a cute wee kitchenette with utensils to make it easy to prepare a snack and something warm. As we stayed on a glorious warm weekend the outside area and chair and table were perfect and peaceful for a break from the Kaikoura activities. This Hotel is close to the supermarket and a nice stretch of the legs to walk into town ( about 1.5km)

Great wee uniy, everything we needed, well considered and great waterfront location in Kaikōura near the seal colony. Owners were fab, left us to own devices only checking in to see if we needed anything/ more supplies. Dog friendly and welcoming. We'd definitely recommend and stay again on next trip to Kaikōura. Thank you!

This is a really nice, modern hotel, very close to the main things to do in Kaikoura. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the staff are very helpful. If you’re doing the swimming with dolphins experience during your stay, the hotel is over the road from the meeting place. This made the early start a lot easier!

Room was very clean. Room was cold when we arrived but staff provided an extra heater when asked. Bathroom was good but a heater would enhance. Overall the room was value for money. Had a kitchen sink which some motels don't have and I dislike having to do dishes in the bathroom, so a definite plus.

The breakfast was simple but nice, they kindly added oat milk for us. The location was a long walk with luggage but worth the great view of Kaikōura mountains from the hotel communal balcony. The restaurant had excellent food.
