The apartment was very warm, comfortable and well laid out. It had everything we needed. The hosts were exceptionally nice, and communication was excellent. Breakfast was ample and delicious. The garden was beautiful and short drive (or moderate walk) to beach, shops, restaurants, and the cliff walk. We really enjoyed our visit and highly recommend.

This accommodation is superb in every way, very spacious, lovely furniture, comfortable bed, good bathroom and fabulous view. Well maintained outside area, with deck, table and chairs etc, free on-site parking and excellent WiFi. It is very close to the estuary, the ocean beach and close to the local Mangawhai Heads shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend and look forward to staying again.

Amazing hospitality from the owner, Jeanette. The Beachcomber room was well appointed and had spectacular views across to Mangawhai beach. We would return just for Jeanette's cooked breakfast!

Mangawhai is a quiet seaside, small town but it has everything you need for a wonderful seaside holiday. Lovely restaurants, safe boating, absolutely stunning beach for walks. Colourful quintessential kiwi baches are everywhere surrounded by Pohutekawa and other natives trees full of birds.

Paradise! Such a beautiful clean beach.

Paradise! Such a beautiful clean beach. Great selection of cafes and even a big supermarket now. Stunning climate and we weren't bothered at all by flies or mosquitoes, which is a definite bonus in a coastal town

Lots of good eating places - great surf beach and inlet for swimming. We ate at Dune. Fish and chips ok but other dishes being served looked great...like pork belly entree! There is a wonderful New World supermarket close by....fresh and bright with wide aisles and lots of goodies to enjoy.

The property was close to town, and to my destination.

The property was close to town, and to my destination. It was tidy and clean, and the proprietor was very friendly and helpful. If it was made clear in the original advertisement that this was going to be part of the proprietors own home with some shared facilities, I did not notice that - and may not have selected it. It would have been a little more comfortable for me to have had a whole unit to myself, which is what I'm used to. I think it should have been clearer on the advertisement. This proprietor was not an issue, however.

This was an excellent location to take a break whilst...

This was an excellent location to take a break whilst traveling in the North Island - the beginning of December meant there were not too many visitors as during the summer months this part of the country would be very popular for holidaymakers. There are lovely eateries - recommend breakfast/lunch at Bennetts.

Excellent dining options in Mangawhai village and Mangawhai...

Excellent dining options in Mangawhai village and Mangawhai Heads, lots to see and do, especially the museum to learn more about the history of Mangawhai. Lovely coastal walk and along the secluded beach to the sand dunes are a must,!
