When we arrived,We received a lovely, friendly welcome from Janice & Kevin,great to meet them. The room we had,was absolutely spotless, very nicely decorated & lovely to stay in.a very comfy bed & a superb bathroom with a fantastic shower. We made use of the BBQ to prepare our evening meal, & managed to see a fantastic sunset. There were plenty of choices for breakfast & Janice gave us lots of information regarding things to do while we were heading north.a great location if your travelling up to cape Reianga & back. A fantastic host.

A cute lil fishing village with a lot of vibe.

A cute lil fishing village with a lot of vibe. Newly built walkways around the coast, lots of wonderful restaurants - with takeaway options. The 4-square is very well supplied and people are friendly and relaxed. The ocean waves lap in here, nice wee spot with excellent scenery with a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Lovely accommodation at really reasonable prices.

Staff were friendly however there was a power cut so no tv, unable to buy food or drinks. Power was off for a lengthy time it would have been nice to get an update or a discount. Other than that it’s always nice to stay

A nice little place to stop over for a few days, especially summertime. A good place to start exploring the Northern part of the country. Some good food and coffee places to visit, shopping etc. A likeable sea/beach place to spend some time relaxing.

Mangonui is a pleasant small place with a beautiful...

Mangonui is a pleasant small place with a beautiful waterfront. Considering its size it has a good range of eating places as well as a supermarket. The heritage trail is interesting and also a good walk, although there are some steep sections once you leave the waterside. There are good views all around. At low tide there is an interesting range of bird life on the exposed mud. There is obviously good fishing. This a good place to tke a trip up to Cape Reinga and the nearby KariKari peninsula has a winery and good beaches.

We had a wonderful stay at the Old Oak. The building itself is gorgeous, a well preserved slice of Mangonui history. We were warmly welcomed on arrival by our hosts. The property exceeded our expectations, the room was beautifully decorated, clean and warm, with a super comfy bed. The property is a short stroll along the boardwalk to some great eateries in Mangonui. Such a lovely romantic place to stay. Highly recommended. We will be back!

This new addition to Booking.com near Mangonui is such a gem. The cottage is comfortable with all the mod cons I could think of and the yard is pet friendly. The 360 views over farmland and distant hills is unique and stunning. The cottage is private and yet there are other buildings not to far away so that you feel free but not isolated. Jorja is an exceptional host and I really hope to come back here again for another amazing stay.

Loved the location, its position in the middle of town, close to cafes, shops, bars and the infamous Mangonui fish and chips - everything within walking distance. Beautiful to watch the sun rise over the stunning Mangōnui Harbour from the deck.
