Picton is a beautiful place on a sunny day or the warmer months. There's plenty to do if you like the outdoors. It's very kid friendly with a great wee water park and playground. We were there for the annual Marina 2 Marina race which is a fun event to take part in. Picton is a nice place to visit so not just the town where you get the ferry to Wellington - it's way more than that! Good range of shops and restaurants to look at, great playground on the foreshore for the kids and a nice place to have lunch and enjoy the stunning view of the harbour. Picton is a lovely place to spend a few days.. or explore further. Irish pub up the road was good for a drink. Mostly did our own cooking but nice cafes around the corner for lunch. Handy bus stop across the road. Went to Blenheim for a day ( check the timetable.. doesn’t go every day) Walked to Waikawa Bay and back. Edwin Fox museum worth going to as was the Mail Run cruise. We stayed for 3 nights… arriving from Wellington by ferry… and leaving by bus for Christchurch.Guest review byDianeNew Zealand

The bed(s)were comfy ,room was warm with a very efficient heater and clean .The hotel was busy but not too crowded which was nice for us ! A larger deck & outlook to the pool area from the ground floor is nice too. Breakfast is always a hit at Edit Hotel ( was Picton Yacht Club Hotel previously ).
