stay here for almost a week and it was a perfect place to base our selves while diving. the bungalow is bigger then it looks in the pictures and there is plenty of space to sit on in the balcony area. hearing the waves crash in front of the unit was so great every night. the grounds are immaculately kept by the staff that really go above and beyond to make it comfortable for you. they even were rustling the plants to get the mosquitos out and zap them with a bug zapper. next level. then there was our dive guy glenn. this man is a pro with a great sense of humor, always a funny or wise story to tell from his years of experience in the industry, and of course a master spotter of all the crazy weird creatures we came to dauin to see. he planned our days based on our wishlist and the weather conditions. even though it wasn't frog fish season we still saw many and got three different octopuses (not during octo season). 💜 really the whole crew here are the best, from the tricycle driver they use for transfers from the airport, to the crew in the kitchen cooking up delicious food, the drivers out to the dive sites, and even the night watchman, ivan. all of them are kind and willing to help making this place feel super welcoming and comfortable. it's no wonder people come back again and again.

I like everything of this resort, except the weather was not so nice during our stay. The restaurant has lots of choices, the cooking is very good. The staff is well trained, and always helpful and friendly. The ambience of the resort is charming, nice garden, free form swimming pool, and nice bar by the pool, very well maintained. We are 4 people, so we have a nice connecting room, incl 2 bathrooms, 2 balcony, big space, very nice.

This was our top accomodation on our three weeks trip around Philippines. Smart, professional and good hearted owners. They went out their way to help us out with everything. They cooked best meals. Beautiful and spotless house right on the beach where we took countless walks, with a great super clean swimming pool. The room was so comfortable with silent A/C and great Skylink internet. This is a little paradise and were sad to go.

Amazing resort! Came here for a dive trip and was blown away by literally everything. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Greeting you with smiles, a calamansi shake when you check in, cold water when you come back from your dives, which is such a god send after a day of diving. The folks at the dive shop are amazing we did 3 consecutive days of diving which included a day trip to Apo island and we loved it. We were extremely taken care of by Kenneth the dive shop manager and Jun our divemaster. The dive sites showcase the diverse creatures in the waters of the Philippines and Jun helped us spot even the smallest critters. Jun made sure we had fun, were safe, hydrated and well fed. On top of that the restaurant on Salum is FANTASTIC! We ate almost all of our meals there. My wife is Filipino and we enjoyed well made classic dishes here! We tried the seafood sinigang, lamb adobo, beef steak, halo-halo, bangus, leche flan, turon, mango shake and a few more - honestly they were all excellent! Lastly, the villas are so quiet and luxurious, the bed is comfy, and has everything you need in it. I highly recommend Salum and their dive shop and restaurant. I already want to come back and will tell my family here about it! Thank you Salum team - Stevie and Chin, for taking great care of us and ensuring we had an amazing stay. Salamat po!

We came here for diving and that was excellent both from the wildlife and dive quality and to the company we used AivyMaes. The town is a little limited so get a scooter. The apartment was equipped for cooking and although we were on holiday we chose to do that rather than eat out all the time. This wa sin large part due to the excellent fresh fish available in the central market. I would also recommend a day out at Casaroro falls near the town of Valencia, which is about a 40 minutes scooter ride

Our stay was very pleasant and enjoyable. The room was big and comfortable. WiFi was great. Staff were all very attentive and helpful to all our requests. Dumaguete city is about 30 minutes away and offers lots of restaurants and other attractions. We definitely will come again if we return in the future.

We stayed in Dauin for one night en route from Dumaguete to Apo Island because I had heard that the Dauin Marine Sanctuary off of Dauin Beach was an awesome spot to snorkel. And it was!!! The coral garden was literally right off the beach within a 1 minute swim. We arrived by tricycle from Dumaguete. We stayed at a resort right on Dauin Beach for easy and quick access. There were multiple restaurants in the area within a 3-10 min walk. We ate at Jardin's. They had a nice variety of very tasty food, and the owners were lovely and accommodating. We stayed late and just chatted with them. We were easily able to catch another tricycle along the main road to get to Malatapay to catch our ferry to Apo Island the next morning.

It's a Divers thing.

It's a Divers thing. If you don't dive there is only the dark sand beach. Very crowded on weekends. Lots of loud ghetto blasters. No night life except a couple of quiet bars on the main road. No food available after 10pm. Maybe if you're lucky a hotdog stand, but you have to look for it. She changes locations every few days.

Dauin is lovely- I would 100% come back here again and...

Dauin is lovely- I would 100% come back here again and recommend to friends. It is nowhere near as busy as other places we visited on Cebu Island (malapascua, moalboal). The locals seem to care so much more about their coastline and the marine ecosystem- they have designated sanctuary areas where the coral and fish are amazing. There is also a rule that buildings must be more than 30m from the high water mark. The beach is nice - not much rubbish. Dark sand (which can get hot!) You can snorkel right off the beach - lovely coral, fish, turtles etc. And the area is not too busy. Locals come here for picnics and its a really nice atmosphere.
