This area is good for many side trips. I would recommend visiting Marváo in the morning; then Cascata Trail de Marvão in the afternoon with a little side trip to Espanha (while in the area). It's worth the drive from Lisbon, though I must admit it is quite a long drive. But the place is a surprise, a hidden gem, that needs to be experienced. A 2-night stay in this charming medieval village is the minimum. However, the town and neighborhood is remarkabliy nice. A river runs though it and there are walking trails and an arched stone bridge there and several water control structures.
