A good spot in a very buissy beach town. There is a parking lot, in the right corner one doesn't see easily before check in which was a bit of a hassle because there was nothing free in front of the hotel to just hop in and get the card, but once you are checked in, there's everything available.

The hotel is located in 1 minute walk from the beach. It's surrounded with the restaurants. They're 2 supermarkets nearby. Excellent sound insulation. We didn't hear a sound even though a hotel was full. Balcony doors are locked with the key, which gives it additional security. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly and professional service. Will stay again!

    OK perfect beaches amazing but that's it, the town is really just bars, restaurants and little shops. The area is lovely to walk around but there no historical points of interest. Also this really is an area for people over 60 or people going to relax at the beach or pool. There's literally no young people here lol, it's wall to wall pensioners. I googled why and its because it's a very flat area whereas most of Portugal is hilly. So no clubs or wild parties here. But it is a lovely area

    Monte Gordo is a small town geared up to the tourist...

    Monte Gordo is a small town geared up to the tourist industry. It has many bars and cafes as well as many gift shops. It is surrounded by large well known supermarkets such as Continente, Lidl and Aldi. It is in close proximity to Tavira and Vila Real de Santo Antonio. We walked around the lively shopping area for about an hour looking for somewhere nice to eat. We ended up opposite the hotel in a pasta restaurant called Oceano which was excellent - one of the best pizzas I have eaten.

    Good to sleep, swim and go somewhere else (Vila Real do san Antonio, tavira, loule...) for a dinner. There's nothing authentic porutguese inside the village. beach is OK, ocean turned in justone night from warm to cold.

    The Town of Monte Gordo is not that big but is full of charm...

    The Town of Monte Gordo is not that big but is full of charm. The main square leads off the Avenida, directly opposite the Casino and there are quite a few restaurants and cafe's to choose from. One or two small streets that lead off the main square, seem to have groups of restaurants, so you have to go exploring to find these hidden gems tucked away.

    Monte Gordo is a very small town/village.

    Monte Gordo is a very small town/village. If you’re looking for a big city, you’re in the wrong place! Everything in Monte Gordo is a short walk. There were multiple types of restaurants, hair salon/barbers, convenience stores, tattoo place, souvenir shops, pharmacies, bike rentals, Thai massage all within a very short walk. The casino (which we didn't visit), beach and boardwalk were all within a 10 min walk away at the most. It was a short trip by car to Castro Marim where we went to the Castelo de Castro Marim and walked around the castle with great views of the surrounding countryside (beware of GPS instructions on how to get here …find a parking lot nearby and map that out instead!) It was worth going, though next time we’d ensure that we’re there when Taberna Velho Cavalinho aka Taberna Medieval is open. Spain was easily accessible on foot via a short 15 min trip on the ferry from Vila Real de Santo Antonio. We were in Monte Gordo during the Winter; perfect for us as we’re not a big fan of crowds and the temperatures (highs 16-19, lows 9-13) were fine with us …though a little warmer in the morning would have been nice 😊 We were here during Carnaval and while we could have gone to Loulé for a bigger, more famous event, we stayed in Monte Gordo for their brief, colourful parade, which was fun. Monte Gordo is literally a great place for ‘walks on the beach’ or boardwalk, good food and a relaxed environment with everything that we needed; NOT a party place …at least, not while we were there.

    For us it was ideally siuated, near the sea, the countryside, Spain. There are plenty of walks, eating establishments shops. The people are friendly and helpful. Hire facilities available. Ofcourse the weather is much better at this time of year.

    Every thing in the hotel was excellent,the best bit was the gym and indoor pool ,the sauna and jacuzzi also it location to the beach etc was about 300 m but the hotel is located just far enough from the bars etc so as not to disturb your sleep the prime energize also has a pool on the roof with sun loungers around and a bar that I expect is open in summer month's

    amazing apartment, had everything we needed, wifi, tv, cooking facilities , parking no problem here, 3 mins to front & to centre of town, quiet [ apart from the odd upset dog :] ! ] no outside space but we knew that & it wasnt a problem. Host very good & deposit & refund were easy. Would / will stay again when in Monte Gordo

    The location is amazing, right on the beach and 2 minutes from the restaurants and bars of the town. The hotel was spotless and very comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was one of the best I have had. I cannot fault this hotel.

    The location was brilliant and the view from my balcony was wonderful. The staff we extremely and professional from the reception staff through to the cleaning staff, nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend this hotel to stay in when visiting Monte Gordo.
