Quaint little town on the Doura Valley. It's built on a fairly steep hill, so bring your walking shoes! Good choice of restaurants (although check opening times). Take the train from Porto, relax and enjoy the view along the way. Pinhão is a laid back 'Village' in the stunningly beautiful Douro Valley. I have been before and it hasn't lost its charm. Douro Tour group was great.
Douro Tour group was great. Recommend the all day Douro Valley tour with boat ride, lunch, wine and port tastings, vineyard tours. It is an easy walk from Quinta Rosa to Pinhão. I loved the small town feeling but yet everything you need was right there - supermarket and a great variety of restaurants. Small town/village right on the river. See,s to be the go to destination for boats moving up and down the river. Great central location for vinyards and touring around. The beds were comfortable and kitchen adequate for cooking simple meals. We did a 1 hour cruise along the Douro from the wharf at Pinhao which was so serene and a must to see the wine terraces from the water.
