Apart from the citadel (which is superb) there ain't much to do in Alba Iulia. There are several restaurants with high quality food, some quiet streets nearby but that is pretty much all. However, there are many, many other cool objectives around (it is within an hour's drive from Sibiu, Deva, Hunedoara, and other cool locations) so it can be considered as a "base" for visiting western Transylvania.Guest review byBogdan - 8.0

The citadel is basically half of the city, so besides that there are not many other attractions. There is a museum, which was closed when we tried to go, but not a problem for us, did not wanted to see it badly. Great places to eat, at an acceptable price. We were impressed by the greatness of the walls, the Coronation Cathedral and the Church of St. Michael. Inside the Alba Carolina fortress, museums can be visited, concerts are held and festivals take place periodically.
