Wow, what a beautiful room and what a big bathroom. We loved it. We needed Google maps to find the location as the Uber driver had no clue, but it was pretty easy to find. The self check-in worked flawless and the next morning we had a very nice breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. We would have loved to stay an extra night, but could not book an extra night as all rooms were occupied. Next time in Bucharest we will be back.

We had a most enjoyable time in this lovely hotel from the moment we were welcomed to the moment we said goodbye. Great thanks to Supun from Sri Lanka and the owner Dan, who did everything in their power for our nice stay. We had a wonderful room (beautiful ambience, very comfortable bed, big TV, nice bathroom). Parking was available right in front of the hotel. The location is also good.

FAQs about hotels in Bucharest

Where Modern Meets Old

A fascinating mix of old and new, Bucharest is one of those cities where you can find a futuristic structure of glass and steel next to an old church, separated by a Communist-style massive edifice. Not overwhelmed by its dark past, the city is now turning its optimistic face towards the West.

Undergoing constant modernisation processes, the city continually changes and new modern structures pop up in the city centre and beyond. Great examples are the stunning Basarab Bridge, Europe’s widest cable-stayed bridge, and the City Gate Towers.

Whilst admiring the new, don’t miss out on the old classics, like the Parliament Palace, the world’s second largest building, with over 3100 rooms and impressive marble interiors covering 330,000 m². Make sure you admire the view from Nicolae Ceauşescu's balcony!

To fully appreciate the city’s long history, from Vlad the Impaler (aka Dracula) to the ’89 revolution, the city offers free guided walking tours, giving you a great opportunity to discover all the city’s secrets. And spot all the best shopping venues!

Before you land at Bucharest Airport, just 18 km from the city centre, make sure you check what Booking.com has to offer: from hotels to apartments, just a few clicks away!

Definitely needed another day or 2.

Definitely needed another day or 2. We managed a full day to Peles Castle, Brasov and Bran Castle - which is highly recommended. These places are full of history and charm. Not to be missed. We also managed a half day at Therme; a unique beautiful place, although over crowded. Old Town is magical and also unique. Threw in some shopping time but we still have a lot to explore in Bucharest. We will visit again soon for sure.

Getting around is unbelievably hard and time consuming- not for the faint of heart! If possible, avoid car rental as moving around is a nightmare 24/7 and parking is almost non existent in entire city! City is unkempt, filthy, smelly and very congested. Could be beautiful but, unlike any other European city, they do NOT cut grass, clean sidewalks, roads, or manage decrepit buildings at all. They let huge buildings collapse before repair and cover them with huge drapes/ signs/ advertisements. Garbage only collected at night due to insane traffic volumes during daytime hours. Heaviest building on the planet, the Palace Parliament has unkempt grounds- there are rose gardens which no one weeds, acres of green grass which could look beautiful for tourists but are entirely left to overgrowth. Shameful! Never seen such a city in the world, so sad.

The old buildings in Bucharest are very beautiful, mostly not taken care of, which is a shame. There is a lot of graffiti that no one takes down, broken sidewalks, and the city is poorly maintained. There are no worthwhile attractions in the city, and what exists is not worth the pennies they ask for: whether it is an ancient village or a zoo or a museum of illusions, it is a real waste of time and money. Those who don't eat pork like us, but don't keep strict kosher, the food is mediocre and below, everywhere they charge for ketchup or any little thing you ask for. It's not cheap, nor is it really high quality, and it doesn't matter where you sit in a restaurant that requires a reservation in advance or a restaurant with a street owner. There are places like pizzerias that were good, but not beyond that... and their prices were also excessive. Someone who isn't interested in a casino has nothing to do in Bucharest at all, so Romania is only interesting for its landscapes, that's in our opinion

Bucharest is a great city with amazing architecture, history and buildings. Unfortunately traffic was horrendous so anything that you organise eg trips to the spa or to Dracula's castle you end up sitting in traffic for hours and paying for it if going by cab! Also be aware and make sure you check any bills from restaurants and cafes as there is a tendency to overinflate what you've had and you end up paying more!

One of the worst experiences in Bucharest:

One of the worst experiences in Bucharest: - bad smell coming from bathroom where part of the bathtub was fall out - no involvement or help when parking lot was occupied - no answer for 2 weeks of continuous request for an invoice - it's like a hoax, you can not contact anybody for assistance

Always check to see if museums etc are open the day you plan to visit as many are closed on Monday and Tuesday. It rained on a Wednesday, our last day, and all the museums and schools closed (the rain wasn't even that bad!) Also, The 12 hr tour of the castles was fine but very long. Most of the time is spent in a huge bus with no bathroom, but it was still great to see Peles castle( only outside since the inside of the castle is closed for renovations), Brasov town for lunch and Bran Castle. Be aware that there are many steps to get to the castle, slippery when raining, and inside the stairways may not have railings and are very narrow and steep! I couldn't finish the interior tour because it was too much effort and stress just to see old furniture (my opinion). I heard the view was nice from the top but for me, it wasn't worth the effort to get up there!

Brand new hotel and modern, spacious apartment, kind and helpful staff. We stayed in the heart of Bucharest, in a very central location. Great location, next to the old town. Mrs. Kelekidou, manager of the hotel, willing to meet us and serve us in anything we needed. Kind and very pleasant person informed us about the attractions of the city. I highly recommend. If you choose Bucharest for a leisure trip or a business trip, it is indisputably the best place for your stay.

Good hotel right on the edge of the old town of Bucharest. Comfortable beds. Get a balcony room if you can - the third floor ones are best. Excellent and helpful staff.
