We could not have been more delighted with this gem of a small boutique hotel on the shore of magnificent Lake Kivu. All the rooms have spectacular views of the lake from the room terrace. The inn is new, sleek, and elegant. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Dining area is beautiful, both inside and on the deck overlooking the lake, and the food is delicious, with some local fare including fresh from the clean lake tilapia, grilled whole or filleted, and European cuisine. The setting is a lush garden filled with birds. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Activities include resting, of course, and soaking in the natural beauty, but also walking, swimming, birding, and guided boat tours of several of the islands among 400+ in the 140 mile long lake. Highly recommended, we hope to return!

Paul and his brother were exceptional hosts, providing a very personal homestay experience. They were welcoming and invited us to share a meal with them, and interact with the other guests. Their warm reactions made us feel comfortable and added to the enjoyable overall experience. The location was a long, but beautiful walk from the town centre, and felt very safe, even when we walked at night. The goats and dogs were adorable, coming to check on us regularly and making the experience even more memorable. The breakfasts were so good; I even asked for the recipe so I could recreate aspects when I returned home. The room was clean, quiet and lovely. There was parking included. The only thing missing was Wifi, but Paul confirmed that he was installing that aspect soon. Other than that tiny detail, the entire experience was wonderful and we extended our stay by a day because we loved it so much.

We enjoyed the 2.5km hike from the Karongi bus station to this Eco-Lodge and were delighted to be greeted by friendly staff, cold beer and fabulous views. There are only four rooms at this eco-lodge, so there's plenty of privacy, peace and quiet. We loved our stay here. We recommend the half-day boat trip out to Napoleon Island. The wifi worked well.

The view around is amazing and the facilities are in very good condition. You have the chance to connect with nature. Also, the staff was polite and helpful with everything. The food was also tasty and breakfast was great. The only issue is that the road to arrive there is bad and you need a good car.

This is a stay that I have never experienced before, exceptional is an understatement. We couldn’t have picked a better place for our honeymoon, and I am genuinely convinced that this tops all other lodges. If you want to experience Rwanda up close and personal, and also realistic, this is the place. You will surely feel at home and private. One tip, if you plan to reach the lodge by self-driving a car, a SUV is a must. Otherwise, there are options for airport pick up even from Kigali for a fee. There are various activities offered by the lodge which are worthwhile and a full-board dining is most definitely recommended. Overall, we are coming back 10/10.
